I’ve always thought about what happens in a games universe when you die.
For example:
There’s a million different universes where Gordon Freeman didn’t save the world, sometimes because he hit a highly explosive canister with a crowbar. Imagine how sad all the npc’s around him must’ve been.
And yet, out of millions of different failures, there’s only ONE universe where Gordon wasn’t a dumbass and actually did his job.
That’s my line of thought with this art. The main character immediately swims out to sea and gets eaten by sharks instead of fulfilling their ultimate destiny.
