Another semi long suggestion which I came up with while making Dead revival staff comeback
Arcanium staves. I don’t mean like the staves warriors use, I mean entire staves meant SPECIFICALLY to conduit magic energy. These would have tiers similar to amulets, maybe looking more advanced with each tier, like a dull would just be a random stick with the right shape, and the royal or fair ones could have a proper mage staff look to them, adorned with a floating core or gem and neat inscriptions.
Two examples:
‘Dull fire branch’
“A tree branch you found on the ground, the end of it is occasionally sparking with [Fire] magic. It wouldn’t be much use as a weapon, but you might be able to use it as a conduit..”
‘Fair shadow staff’
“A proper mage staff made of various metals and arcanium, the end has a shape meant for conducting magic decently, the gem affixed into the staff has turned a deep[Black] color from your [Shadow] magic.”
How these would work? haven’t fully worked that out yet, maybe they’d have a set “level”, acting as a second mage slot almost, allowing you to put more spells into it, or they’d have exclusive attacks?
Maybe it could work kind of like relics where it’s a mix of those two ideas, letting you use a few customizable spells and a single one exclusive to the staff?
