Shoutout to Francis Drake on that one insanity island.
how is he an incel for using ai?
also theres nothing wrong with using ai generally, it should be used how hes using it (to help with certain tasks), rather than how most people using it making the ai do the task for them, also there are numerous benefits of using ai in modern life like that one ai that doctors trained to find cancer tumors that had an almost flawless success rate that doctors couldnāt imitate
bros greatest enemy is reading comprehension
I just feel like, at early access, we were getting something really really good, then it just kind of drew off in the wrong directions.
forts, fleets, clan islands and the dark sea are just boring time-suckers, and thatās started to be the kind of stuff we wait on getting for years.
ever since we moved on from receiving the bare necessities and started getting the extended content, itās been so much harder to have fun.
thereās been too much focus on adding progressing content and not enough focus on actually making the game progress.
maybe Vetex is just not confident enough to make the story elements, because maybe the writing isnāt good enough yet, or the boss mechanics havenāt been planned. thatās all I can think of.
there are too many things and not enough good things. make less things and more good things please thank you vetex.
tldr game sucks this is a woodworking forum now
It also goes a bit deeper than this.
There are also absolutely justified cases of using AI to ādo a taskā for you, especially if itās a lower level/boilerplate task that precisely lacks creativity and hard direction. Itās kinda like a super knowledgeable junior developer that needs a lot of guidance to actually give you want you want, so you need to lead it and provide it direction to get the best results. That being said, it can do the simple stuff really well with a broad range, but for specific needs, it is up to you to refine and tune it to fit those needs consistently. It wonāt be a reliable tool out of the box like most tools are.
The Topic Itself
No, Iām not satisfied with Arcane Odyssey. Despite me having been with the game all this time as a tester and balance organizer for a sizeable portion of AOās early access phase, it just doesnāt seem like a game Iād really play myself anymore, simply because thereās just too many hitches in gameplay that make it unfun and a chore. Many features donāt feel coherently implemented and genuine replayability is lacking. Maybe itās burnout from the toll of balance + dealing with my pet peeves with the game for so long, but yeah, I just decided I had enough of playing the game after trying out Full Release for 1-2 days.
For me in particular, QoL for playing on multiple slots (I have 15 Lv 140+ slots) is absolutely horrendous in almost every possible way. Slot-based pouches, slot-based profession progression, titles not being account-based, to name a few. I feel like I have to play for so many hours in the game if I want to max out characters and trade around to get a maxed build for every slot that actually feel worth playing on, and as far as grinding wealth goes, I have like 9 Headlesses, which are probably increasing in value faster than any player could physically grind up in the game 24/7, so what is there even to do?
However, I am willing to become an AO developer and help address my gripes with the game, alongside some long-term issues/polishing with the game for good since I have a game with a comparable codebase size and complexity. That is if Iām given the chance though.
yeah i suppose i should of specified that they throw a prompt in and take the first thing the ai says without proofreading or refining it, but i was trying to make a simplified reasoning for all sorts of ai rather than specifically text generating ones (like people who use ai art and either sell or try to pass it as their own, though then again most ai āartistsā do at least reroll the prompt until they get one they like, so i suppose it just wasnt a good example afterall)

given the results of my suggestion, its safe to say that the entire community agrees with this sentiment (i certainly do)
i like magic pirate game
I am too, Iād even be willing to become an AO developer without any payment, as not only am I currently doing nothing, Iām in between job & University, therefore I have literally nothing to do at the moment.
But due to the leadās severe difficulty in communication, I havenāt been able to get a chance to even suggest such a position despite being a rather golden opportunity with me having 10 years of experience and doing it for basically free.
I believe itās going to be nepotism repeated if another developer joins the team, similarly to how Ript was immediately brought in as a full developer with basically no questions.
In a vacuum, the game is fine, but the performance - the balance, the community, really serve to stifle an otherwise good game
i lack a nasa supercomputer so i am not satisfied.
also my first 2 dark sea runs where i went further than layer 1 were absolutely RUINED.
first when i misclicked trying to equip blashphemous dagger, panicked looking for a gem and got orbital striked
second i grazed a lava tile and had a seizure (ingame) from 900 dmg a tick.
This is a very biased opinion as Iāve been playing ao for many years (and have grown quite fond of it) but here we go:
I honestly love the story but I feel like the whole skyhall arc was a tad confusing (as in it packed a pretty long story into one pretty short story which made it feel too fast paced). I enjoyed the story 95% of the time (again, this is my very biased opinion) and I actually donāt feel like the replyability is horrible for the story. I have a goldfish memory so in maybe a month or two Iāll have forgotten enough of the story to enjoy doing it again.
Lag: This one doesnāt really apply to me because I can play with max graphics and still get 60 fps. The lag for inventories also doesnāt apply to be because Iām poor (~3500 items only). Since I donāt lag much for various reasons, this one doesnāt affect me but it definitely affects others.
After story gameplay (Very biased): I really enjoy the after story gameplay on my main account, thereās so many things in AO that you can do after the story (Eg. Dark sea exploration, bounty hunting, maxing professions, building, etc) but once you make a new save, maxing professions and exploring the dark sea (etc) again gets a little boring, but for my main save slot, I quite enjoy the after story gameplay.
Anyways, theres a lot of things that I didnāt add in here but I still considered it in my -/10 rating. Iād say Iām 9.2/10 satisfied with Arcane Odyssey (Again, super biased opinion)
a fellow story enjoyer hello there
i am mourning what this game could have been if it wasnt so laggy and if it had a consistent update schedule
oh, and good combat
meta try not to become a dev for game he likes challenge
Arcane failed miserably; the full release came out at a bad time, failed to capture the attention of the new playerbase, failed horribly at optimization, hence, marketing towards the majority of the roblox users which comprises about 80% of all roblox: mobile users.
Arcane Odyssey is a game that has the freedom motif
Thatās all Iām gonna say about it
no lol
