pre weapons nerf wom era pvp was absolutely insane. base weapons did as much damage as high power magic, so you could just go full defense build and use bows

Back in the days, everyone had to massacre hundreds of far-Westerners in order to unlock their second magic.
Those weren’t good times, the only thing that was pleasant about them was the clashing mechanic.
back in my day when i played with my friends I had to play walking simulator for half an hour
I remember taking the risk and buying Beta Access for Arcane Adventures, with a level 100 cap and flaunting that blue beta band after free release.
The excitement of getting my first ult at level 100, and always chilling on Savaria to talk with the new players (even though it was frequently raided by negative reps).
Mashing R at the island nearby Savaria to farm those bandits to level up.

How strange it was when Borealis was moved to a second sea, and instead of the mutations Theos mentioned, being able to obtain a second magic.
Those were the good old days.
However in reality AO is better than going back to that would ever be, but memories do cause you to look back with rose tinted glasses

Dodge reflex didn’t exist
Paper magic was deleted before AO got released (alongside ink magic, and gold+iron being fused into metal)

the bow meta was so fucking boring though you were just playing an fps since dashing didn’t exist yet and parrying arrows was basically impossible
