Delete all current rites and rework the entire class to function like a summoner.
Make a system so that people go after summons instead of focusing solely on summoner in pvp. Or some tools to survive while your stupid ai trash cans fight your foes. Otherwise it will end up as cancer as it is rn.
Also delete regeneration or do something about it, it’s not cool to have 650 regeneration and see more green zeros than any effect because your attacks are slow as hell and can be easily parried because it is fucking animated as if you were some stupid dark souls boss that got heart attack mid-cast.
There is no way for it to work
balancing-wise maybe, but functionally its definitely possible
there could be protecting summons that are stationary and have little health but while they are alive the user gets significant damage reduction (probably caps at a certain range before they despawn), summons that stun the enemy if they get too close to them, long-lasting summons that attack and dodge for chip damage, summons that heal the user, etc
while it would be cool for there to be a summoner class, spirit is just not the right choice for it, if there would be any unique gimmick for spirit it should be sustain/tank (like it is currently vs how it used to be) since they are able to heal themselves and modify their bodies in lore, though i think spirit as a class will grow once we get stronger relics and can start manipulating the actual environment
just.. dont run 650 regen then..
why are you running 650 regen on the first place? maybe consider running dex instead if the already faster than magic spirit attacks are somehow too slow for you?
istg some of y’all agenda posters are way too obvious about it
The whole point of spirit is that it’s “divine energy” which can cause real phenomena, unlike magic, which is an imitation born from chaos.
This includes things like lifeforce, which is why spirit mutation magics can heal. It wouldn’t be unreasonable to assume that with enough experience, you could imbue spirit energy into inanimate matter to create temporary constructs that fight alongside you. Also, the idea of a “tank” class in AO would just fundamentally not work as every build can very easily become tanky with the right weapons/magics/fighting styles while running high defense/resistance.
while that is definitely possible its not something we’ve seen nor heard about so for now its head-canon, but i do like the idea
eh not really since spirit could do the same thing on top of its innate tankiness, thats like saying mage isnt the ranged class and berserker isnt the close-range class just because the other classes also have ranged and close-range abilities
Literally what is tanky about spirit in today’s environment.
Because a single forcefield skill on the staff of night does NOT make the class tanky ![]()
Mage and Berserker honestly are better tanks because you can run resistance aura/focus on them
As for weapons, they’ve got shields to work with
What’s that one skill that summons those little spirit ghosts oracles can’t use yet? That has to count for something, at least as a proof of concept
could, if it were a tank class.
well those are made of pure spirit energy rather than channeling it into inanimate objects, its basically just conjure elemental but spirit
Okay what do you think a tank class even does
Because unlike a ranged/melee based build it’s kind of hard to imagine the purpose of a class that’s just really hard to kill
How does that make itself unique from other builds?
Again, every class has the innate potential to be a tank
i think a tank class would need to have immense defensive properties and a way to utilize them (like in the form of taunts to catch aggro for group combat, or a way to use its health to attack, like what release spirit was when it had innate drawback but increased health), in spirits case it could be in the form of body modifications that can either make you more bulky, more agile, or stronger (just going off lore at least)
This sounds redundant at best and completely pointless at worst because in arena and in 1v1s aggro skills would be literally useless.
Not to mention if you want high risk high reward drawback attacks you can just run drawback
i specified taunts would be for group combat so why are you applying them to 1v1s lol, also not sure how it makes the class redundant if it gets an ability that lets it be versatile but at 1 thing at a time rather than a little versatile at everything like warrior
except every build can do that if they want to, just run defense if you want to be a tank remember?
the point is having it innately bypasses the need to have a specific build tailored to it which overall increases the options the class has for building (though its not an increase over just not having it, but the example i gave was just that, an example, not a fully fleshed idea)
Wow because group combat outside of clan wars are sooooo common ![]()
Aura/Focus.
How many times am I going to need to repeat that.
Yeah and that’s exactly why your idea doesn’t work
The thing that separates weapons/magic/strength from each other is that even when you specialize into certain stats and make different playstyles they still retain their identities
A tanky mage could never crash into you and bumrush as well as a tanky berserker could, and while a tanky weapons build could theoretically imitate either, they’d need to sacrifice weapon slots in order to do so. Not to mention that weapons already act as the “glue” class of the game as they can universally mesh with almost any playstyle available
A class that is purely meant to be a tank fundamentally is flawed because it reduces it to a single purpose rather than being a vague general concept with multiple interpretations
correct, even in this state of the game with <1k players there are at least 3 different guilds that do daily group dragon hunts, and as spirit has the best defensive tool against dragon (in the form of spirit wall which completely negates their most dangerous attacks; the magic blasts), it would make spirit a great tool for taking aggro from classes that dont have great defensive tools, not to mention their innate lifesteal that gives them more sustain can keep them on the field longer
what about them, did you quote the wrong thing?
if you’re saying it would be redundant than aura or focus then thats just incorrect since neither aura nor focus can take aggro nor do they give drawback, they only increase a specific stat (and if youre using anything except resistance, that stat is applied to the magic/fs itself rather than to your character)
say that to the metal mages who do 600 damage (if unblocked/parried) drivebys with blast/beam
shield isnt really needed for a defensive build, maybe once they get the rest of their skills but for now their main benefit is only giving a little bit of defense, which is often overshadowed by the utility of a third weapon
except i never said that it would be specifically a tank, i said it could be a tank and in the idea i just kind of spitballed i gave examples of what it could do outside of being a tank, it’d be like warrior in that it can support any playstyle, but instead of being able to support multiple playstyles at once it could be customized to support a specific playstyle
You can make a summoner tanky too you know that right.
Okay I gotta go now
i mean yeah i said i wasnt against the summoner idea but just that it is currently not confirmed if that’d even be a thereotical option

was a fun convo seeya
Ok, I overreacted, so to say short: Regen is useless in pvp due to “4 pvp dominating stats - power, defence, dex, range” and Oracle feels like a savant’s shadow due to its attacks coming from other classes, but without special use. God souls have almost no interaction, Athena’s EP 2,5% dmg buff sounds like a joke forcing you to choose between nothing or unstable imbue. Built-in regen and unstable imbues clash with eachother leaving you with a plain stat boost which doesn’t sound like something new.
It is fun and playable, I like it and I will continue using it. I am upset with the fact that it feels like a reskin rather than a complete class. I think Vetex should have written relationships between gods before releasing this class.
