random question but why did you named them Caline and Melody ?
im guessing Caline is Cat + Feline
but what about Melody ?
or is it random ?

caline basically means huggle in french
when we got her, she was extremely small and didnt know how to be a cat. she was basically just an articulated plushy, climbing on us to sleep on a shoulder.
she kinda looked like she was sick, since she needed so much heat constantly that she slept behind the fridge, had some sort of eye infection and suddenly became extremely fat for her size (imagine a water balloon with small legs). we still dont really know why shes fat, she eats as much if not less than every other cat we had and is very active. her adopted sister had to teach her how to clean herself and use the litter properly
adopted sister which is gone now, thats why we have melo
melody doesnt really have an amazing backstory for her name
she was generally afraid of everything when she arrived and you basically had to hold your breath to approach her because any sound scared her. for a while, i called her black spaghetti because shes black and moved almost like a snake to be the stealthiest possible, but that was a joke obviously. we didnt call her oreo because thats overused, so my mom started calling her mélodie. she did say before she might have called her daughter mélodie if she got one so i guess thats it.
melo is still a scaredy cat, but shes not as bad now. meanwhile, caline is an extremely sociable cat toward humans and is known for her “innocence”. shes like a child, very curious and dumb, while melo actually prefers self preservation
