Callahan's (and Allanon's and Liara's) Early Sea Vacation

Callahan has a difficult job, keeping the Intact Prince of Skyhall safe! He has to shoot fleeing cloaked people with light beams, help Skyhall’s floundering tourism industry recover by directing visitors to anything except the place where the Skyhall people remember where everyone outside Skyhall ran their pockets, and sometimes even walk instead of run. So, I decided to help him get a vacation!

First, I dug a hole on the road to the bridge to the island where they keep all their boats. Then, he ran into the hole, and fell in, all the way down to…

The Vents of Aeolus! It’s your day off Callahan, who will be at the Notus Greatbridge? Not us!

The railings are fine, it’s those potholes in the middle of the road that you need to watch out for.

He liked staying in that one spot, so I tried to move him using my sailboat, but he fell off the mast. He tried moving back to that spot when I got close.

He now sits in the corner (or half a corner, missing one wall to make it a real corner) and thinks about what I’ve done.

I tried summoning some aquatic creatures to help Callahan move around (and also to see if he’d take damage)

Callahan did not take damage.

Now, can I get Callahan into the volcano? Probably not. But it’s nice to dream, isn’t it?

Later, Callahan would tell Allanon and Liara about this vacation.

I don’t think Callahan is enjoying his vacation…

We know.
:eye: :eye:

He seems pretty happy to me

have you tried wind magic/gale gel for knockback?

Maybe he’s not happy because you didn’t take him very far.
Take him into the dark sea, or maybe somewhere in the bronze sea (he will follow you there I know from experience)

Tried Devastate, but that didn’t work. It does work on moving NPCs in town when you have Fame, though, so that’s fun.

So, after we got back to Skyhall from Callahan’s vacation, we told Allanon and Liara about the wonderful trip, and they were so jealous, Allanon was moved to tears and Liara ran off to go scream about how nice the sea is!

Or maybe it was because I parked my skyship illegally. (It’s not mine, I don’t know how I got it. I just rent a new one every time I need one.)

Anyways, it was clearly time to take the whole family on another vacation! The King said he was busy with the whole kingdom thing, the Queen said she was busy with the whole instructing - I mean advising about the whole kingdom thing, and I couldn’t find the other Prince. Princess Esmeralda said she wanted to be a Quartermaster, but that’s a big commitment. She has all the qualifications, what with having a name that starts with E, but I’ll need a few story quests to think about it. Anyways…

Down we go! First, I introduced them to what we sea monkeys call “lava”. If you mix lava and water, you get stone, and that’s why we don’t have to worry about resource scarcity like Skyhall does!

Allanon said he’d get me back for that SICK BURN about how much better we are than Skyhall, but we’ll see! (I doubt he could top dealing 1012 damage in one hit.)

We ran into some trouble when some Assassins showed up to attack my luxury cruise boat. I guess that’s another thing Skyhall doesn’t have that the sea has - assassins!

Welcome to Sameria! (Or Sandfall Isle.) This is what you’ll be sending your entire military force to help defend, so I had to make sure you saw it for yourself! And this is a cactus. As I just helped you see, if you touch it, it hurts you! Go ahead Callahan, have Liara give it a try!

There’s rumors of there being something called cactice, but that’d require traveling a bit too far to the west for this vacation.

This is a pond! It’s like a sea, but it’s on an island, and it’s where water collects without using fancy grate-towers. And look, sometimes there’s fish! Those are like birds, but they fly in the water. We fish for them and add them to our fish collections and if you get all the fish you become the Master Angler! Or was it Ocean’s Archivist? I’ve heard of people fishing for birds in another land, so maybe you can be the Sky’s Archivist! Oh, right, busy with the whole “running Skyhall” thing in the future. Hey, as long as you don’t run it into the ground!

Look, we have so much food we stack it up like bowling balls! And they sparkle because they are so high quality! (No, Callahan, we already went to a pond, we’re not going back. Just get an extra long fishing rod while you’re here. See, that’s how you do tourism, upsell the gift shop!)

The coconut was so delicious, it brought tears to his eyes!

Check it out, this is a cooking pot! You can cook food here, and it becomes tastier, or sometimes less tasty! You can make some decent meals! Oh, you have one at Skyhall? Oh, had, it got stolen and taken to the Nimbus Wilds. Hey, Allanon, why don’t you head there and see if you can go get it later?

This is a deckhand! You see, our boats are so big and important that we recruit unpaid bums to make them move faster and to wear funny hats to decorate our boats. What? No, his name’s not Liara, it’s Lawrence the Bright.

This is a gunpowder barrel! It explodes! People put it on their ships and the ships explode! Honestly, if you’re letting your ship explode, it’s a skill issue, just put less gunpowder barrels on board. Wait, why are you crying? It’s okay, it’s just a ship, it’s not like you lost a treasure chart or anything.

This is a throne! Important people sit on these things and tell mercenaries what islands to visit next. What? No, Liara isn’t important enough to sit on a throne. Don’t worry, you’ll be doing enough throne-sitting for the both of you in the future, I am sure!

Here, we have the greatest secret of Sameria - the Storage Room! Nobody ever goes here. This is where they keep all their treasure chests!

Here, we have the greatest throne-sitter of Sameria - the Leader of Sameria! No, we’re not here for your war or whatever, Allanon is here on vacation! Would you like to share some words of wisdom, Nilah?

Yes, very inspirational, very lucky words! I am sure those words will be appreciated for as long as we live.

Here’s a bridge! It’s not a greatbridge, but it’s a good bridge! I’ve even composed a short poem about bridges! (Callahan, write this down on a note, but you better put my name on it, or I swear I’ll)

bridge, o bridge
all the more praise the bridge!

Here, we have bankers, who hold your money, and thieves, who hold your money. Isn’t life down here above the sea grand?

Check it out, here’s where we build big boats. We tried to make a flying boat one time, we were inspired by visions of flying whales, so we got a bunch of gunpowder barrels and put it on our boat, but it didn’t fly so good. Maybe it’d work for your big boat though!

Here, we have absolutely nothing of interest. Moving on!

Oh, this is a criminal! He has glass, which causes bleeding! Bleeding is bad, so you should try to avoid it. I know, I know, you don’t have glass in Skyhall, but there was one time that there was some flying glass, and that was a bad time. Don’t worry, bleeding wears off! You know, just don’t run out of health.

Oh, this is an anti-criminal! He has no hair, because the guards here are poor. They don’t even have pauldrons, how are they going to defend against the boars? What do you mean, maybe they have pauldrons equipped but hid them? That wouldn’t work! That’s just silly.

This is a faction leader! Faction leaders lead factions, and factions are cool clubs you can join to get cool things like capes and shirts and recognition for killing people. Do you have any factions in Skyhall? The Forsaken? Never seen them before, maybe they’re in a more eastern part of the kingdom?

Also, no, the faction leader’s name isn’t Liara, it’s Helewyse. Come on man, try and keep up.

Here we have an elevator. Down in the sea, we don’t climb up walls, we have contraptions to do our climbing for us! Yes, Liara, please hold on, this thing has no railings, so you have to be careful or you’ll fall a short non-damaging distance.

And here we have a bear

To be continued

Unfortunately for your cliffhanger, I know that you gain immunity to enemy attacks while carrying an npc. You aren’t the only one to do something like this after all.
(could this be a new tanking method against dragons? I haven’t tested)

Allanon watching as we carry him straight past the doctor, descend from Skyhall, set sail on our ship, travel into the magic apocalypse surrounding the Nimbus sea, fight a legendary dragon once worshipped as a deity who invented darkness magic, succesfully kill it and then bathe in its blood, all the while he is still actively dying of poison in our hands and Liara is on the verge of a coma:

Oh wait actually a moly would cure him so it would be funny to have us go all the way out there to grab one for him.

immense shade

I honestly think this is my favorite post ever.

The above images makes me think the player and Callahan are really eager to cook allanon and liara

Birds are a way safer and reliable source of diet, so if the Grey Ones are risking it that much, it’s gotta be worth it

But did you know that you can RIDE A BEAR?

I don’t know why, the bear wasn’t aggressive.

Here we have a gem merchant! Not a Jewel Merchant, he sells gems, not jewels. He had me destroy a bunch of rocks because that’s where gems come from! Also, I delivered a mystery box to him, I think it contained super deadly poison used to kill or incapacitate royalty. But that’s just a guess, they said they’d use super deadly poison used to kill or incapacitate cool guys if I peeked.

Look, a wa- what do you mean you guys haven’t finished repairing the wall yet? I’ve been gone for five main story quests at least!

Mr. Sand, this town is in a state of disrepair, you should be ashamed! Look at Prince Allanon here, he’s weeping over the loss of an enjoyable experience observing a wall! Now he’s going to miss out on the joy Callahan experienced when he fell off the sky islands!

Here we have a Navy Major, a major person in the Grand Navy! Who are the Grand Navy? They’re like your Skyhall Guards, except you can’t tell them what to do and they make their people wear stupid outfits. No, the Navy Major’s name isn’t Liara. And Callahan, we were just in that disgrace of a town, you should have went to the doctor before we left! You can’t even lose health, believe me, those sharks tried!

Look, a tornado! And much like that “wall”, it’s full of sand and wind and not stone! Oh, that strange icon? Don’t worry about it, it ain’t going anywhere.

Look how majestic the tornado is! So sandy and windy! Isn’t sand and wind such an amazing combination? And it can do a lot of damage! It’s supposed to send us into the air, but for some reason it isn’t working.

Never mind, it started working, whee!

Look, ruins! This is what happens to buildings when they grow old, or when something bad happens like someone using Explosion Magic or the land it’s on collapsing. Too bad these ruins are closed, it’d be nice to plunder its treasures! If you’re going to make some Skyhall ruins later after this great inspiration, be sure to add some treasure! And be sure to make it believable, I want to feel like people lived there.

This guy is a potionmaker! He’s also a potionseller! Let’s see if he’ll sell us his strongest potions!

Score! Oh, yeah, some of the potions are poisons. You have to be real careful with poisons, they can have some real bad side effects such as causing bleeding! And we know how bad bleeding can be, right?

Here we are, the Sun Temple! This is where a bunch of monks worship the sun I think. They also have a neat sky light so they don’t run out of sun and so they can collect water that pools on the ground so it’s really important that nothing foul gets into the pool so they don’t stand in the center of the room because they need water to drink because the sun doesn’t give water! Isn’t that right, Mr. Sun Temple Monk?

Callahan! Quit looking so dissatisfied with the Sun Temple, you’re making him upset. We went to your boring monument about how Skyhall lost the game of war, you can tolerate being at a boring temple dedicated to sitting quietly and staring at the sun! Isn’t that right Mr. Sun Temple Monk?

Alright, let’s get out of the sun and look at how much sand there is in Sameria! If you ever need to import sand for some sand castles or because you miss the fun you’ve had here, feel free to pick up some sand! Yes, bring Liara over so she can behold the sand splendor of Sameria!

Sameria has all the sand in the world! (Except for the sand at Sandfall Isle, and the sand at Limestone Key, and the sand at Blasted Rock, a

Check it out, this glass is colorful! This is state of the art, mages haven’t figured out how to get colorful glass yet. This would be perfect to bridge the gap between the sea and sky - no, not literally, I’m just saying, one look at this and all the Skyhall citizens would understand why someone would be willing to ransack an entire country and steal a specific prestigious resource.

Here we have something you’ve probably never seen in Skyhall, litter! Someone left behind a hood and a wanted poster and some blood and a bunch of planks of wood and a unique building. What? No, it doesn’t say Liara, it says… oh, my vision’s too blurry, maybe I need glasses, it could say Liara. Does Liara have a bounty on her head? Asking for a friend.

Let’s go to a wonderful island called Makarena I think! Sure, Callahan, we can see if there’s a doctor in the center of town there.

Nope, just a criminal!

Look, a lever! You can use levers to activate things, such as elevators. And elevators are the second safest and most convenient form of travel in the world, next to skyships! Well, as long as you stay seated and don’t load it with a bunch of gunpowder barrels. You know, just like skyships. And normal ships, for that matter.

See? Completely safe!

Can you see it? The green question mark? What do you mean, you can’t? I guess you’re not cool enough to go questing, but don’t worry, I’ll find the way there!

No, that’s not Liara, that’s some victims of a murder as part of a ritual.

Look, we found the bearer of the Green Question Mark Curse! What? You see grey question marks? Are you sure you’re not just confused? Don’t be silly.

Allanon, don’t be rude, let him pull your finger! (Hey, does this count as me giving you a finger for our deal for spitting in the eye of the gods and acquiring power beyond imagination? Also, what’s a finger?)

Anyways, the reason I brought you all here is so we could get to the bottom of this “assassin attack” business and get on with our vacation. I’m sure they’ll be accommodating to our requests!

(Hey, I know we’re in the middle of some heated negotiations, but check it out, I just scored some free stuff!)

They were not accommodating to our requests.

After all that adventuring, I am now really cool and went up a level! Being a vacation guide is such a rewarding experience, they should make it a full profession!

Okay Allanon, I’m only sharing it with you, Callahan, Liara, and nobody else ever, but here is where the true secret of Sameria lies! What is it? Well, this well is where you can get the rarest pieces of equipment in the world - Drowned Samerian equipment! Yes, please hold on, we’re going to try our luck.

Okay Allanon, there’s no reason to cry (especially underwater), just because you have disappointed Liara by failing to get a Drowned Samerian piece to take home. No, we can’t just drown a Samerian and call it a day! Wait, what do you mean I am putting words in your mouth? I’d never do such a thing!

Uh oh, a castaway! We have to help this poor soul out! Vacation or not, it’s important to help those in distress as soon as possible, with no distractions.

Oh, you want to head back home? Alright, I’ll go ahead and use the ability to t-jump repeatedly that I gained on this server for some reason to fly to the sky at once. SKYHALL, I’VE FINALLY FOUND YOU![1]

And so we have returned home, and I have a nice shiny blue glow!

  1. It wasn’t Skyhall. What? All you clouds look the same to me. ↩︎

Now ride a dragon!

Nice!

Aw

Hey Ally, did you know you can expedite the process of getting drowned Samerian items, by drowning some Samerians!

I called it!

Have you considered heal pots?

whatever this is i love it please keep cooking :st3::st3:
