I don’t know if spirit flight is just objectively better than magic flight (same/more distance + less energy cost) or sidegrade (less distance covered + less energy cost).
i have heard that spirit flight is generally better than magic flight but i might be wrong
A simple fix to flight issues is making all flight take you the same distance for same amount of energy, but faster ones being less controllable and vice versa
flight turn speed fr???
energy drain is identical if that was what you meant.

well genuinely even if it goes a slightly further distance, spirit flight’s probably still better just to not have to bother with losing hundreds of total energy with every single flight
i heard someone say the speeds are different
I mean if the speeds are different but the energy drain is the same, then one is outright better than the other, it’s just… which one?
Spirit flight is set.
Flight is based on your equipment stats and your magic’s stats
No. Magic flight has been nerfed 100%. Equipment doesn’t change the distance of magic flight, nor energy efficiency, and the more energy, the faster it is consumed, and the less, the slower. There’s a middle ground around 1.3k which is ideal for maximizing flight range.
As far as I know, the only things that change flight speed are the type of magic and aura, but from my tests, aura doesn’t change much.
I don’t know how flight works nowadays for spirits, but every time a friend and I flew (me with magic, him with spirit), he always ended up about 300 meters before my flight, even with the same amount of energy. If spirit flight now consumes more energy and still maintains the same distance, it’s much worse than magic flight.

so the extra energy from foods was a fucking lie???
but spirit flight only uses 1 energy to take off while magic uses 200, so i think it evens out
Not entirely.
You still have all that extra energy, its just that flight and other similar spells like hover and probably path spend a set % of that energy per second.
If 0.1% of your magic is 1000 then you still have loads of room to throw out non % costing spells while you’re casting them.
As theorical said, it’s really based on percentages. I have no idea how it’s actually programmed, but generally it tries to maintain a constant flight time, whether it has a LOT or LITTLE energy. Anyway, this is a rich man’s spell; if you don’t have 20 burgers, you’ll go bankrupt quickly. But generally, it’s always worth having between 1.3k and at least 700-800.
One thing I learned while playing around with hover and flight is that hover can go further than flight if you use a max movement speed set and have energy efficiency (YES, MOVEMENT SPEED AFFECTS HOVER), and at maximum speed it becomes very good for exploring the dark sea, etc.
