They’re buggy, they’re annoying, they don’t despawn, and they deal way too much damage.
Genuinely please delete them

Zombie brigs as a concept are cool but it just pisses me off because it’s very clearly not an intentional behavior of atlantean brigs to keep moving and attacking without their crews
this is genuinely a skill issue.
just sink them.
sure, the NPCs on board are much stronger than you and could easily overpower you in the open ocean, but the ship itself? No lol.
Theoretical normally I respect your opinions a lot but this one is not it chief
They can’t be sunk, they’re too overleveled and sometimes they’re actually glitched in a way where they can’t even take damage at all (Source: I’ve hecate hunted like 20 times at this point I know what I’m talking about bro)
A lot of brigs (in my experience at least) are broken where there are no Atlanteans. I feel like mentioning this because if you ended up destroying a brig, you’re gonna get nothing out of it other than supplies and if you’re unlucky enough to get hit by too many mortars, then they’re essentially just there to reduce your brigs HP and supplies.
But tis coming from a person who farms I3 and above so maybe my suffering is justified
(Though I’m just disliking that most brigs I found are broken and you don’t get any loot/atlanteans to kill)
There is literally no ship in the game that is a serious threat to me because I have a competent ship build lol. (aka long range, good mobility, and mortars)
If I see an atlantean brig in the 5th range, I just kill it before it follows me around and annoys me when I try to stop somewhere.
Do you think we don’t have competent ship builds?
Also you must be insanely lucky because if an atlantean brig has mortars you are genuinely unironically fucked
Case in point:
The mortar aiming AI is extremely predictable though.
Just wait until you hear it fire and go in literally any other direction.
Why we ragebaiting cousin

I’m not the ships are just so easy to kill and I’m baffled that people get sunk by them.
The ship can’t hurt you if you just outrange it so it can’t hit you in the first place.
Maybe because they’re FUCKING INVINCIBLE half of the time?? Maybe because they always seem to spawn next to an island and they destroy your boat while you’re gone exploring?? When was the last time you’ve played AO, because literally NO ONE would agree with you based on current events that atlantean brigs are just some small inconvenience and NOT a run ruining nightmare to deal with due to how unstable they are from over 3 years worth of glitches
My last time playing AO was during the recent update where I have encountered and defeated like a dozen atlantean brigs with minimal damage taken.
I take more damage from sunken forests spawning infront of me.
Far reaches brigs?
You know, dark blue title, no atlantean crew, 100% accurate mortar aimbot, damage immunity?
REMOVE SUNKEN FORESTS VETEX AND MY LIFE IS YOURS
yes, in the far reaches.
the heavily armored brigs that are very much not heavily armored and only have 15kish hp lol.
If the brig is properly bugged and completely immune to damage, just hit it with a chainshot mortar and sail away, it’ll despawn if your ship has half decent speed.
That works on literally any ship too if you don’t want to deal with it.
Okay but even then like your argument is that atlantean brigs can (supposedly) be fought and sunk and that’s the end of that
But if that’s true then what is their purpose at all other than being just another nuisance that artificially adds difficulty to the game and ruins runs for no reason, not even water poisoning is this egregious as you can at least counter it 99% of the time, unlike brigs where if they’re glitched so you can’t sense them coming or they have insanely large mortars, you’re just totally fucked
they’re a source of dark sealed chests and probably the best source of atlantean essence because every single crew member counts.
ideally they get something new but removing them outright would be insane.
…
HAVE YOU BEEN READING ANYTHING AT ALL?
yes, experiencing occasional bugs does not justify removing the entire attached mechanic.
ya’ll are extremely unlucky if the game is doing you this badly with the brigs lol.
I have never once seen one of them spawn completely without a crew, I’ve seen them keep moving after I kill their crew, but not just not having one outright.
