You know, cooking is the worst mechanic in the game right now, and the one that gives the worst rewards, I have some toughs on what is wrong with it.
Right now, you cannot get any usefull items other than really the food that you are eating with these small buffs, but it does not metter if you use a giant squid or any other fish you cna get recovery from both of them, so here what I think would be a good change
When Cooking a fish, every category should give you a different buff, we have many effects in the game, but food only give us the same effects, what if Anglefish give revealing effect for some time, or glowing, or something silly does not metter, but have something different.
Also, add a new skill for cook perfect, Clevar, allow you to remove the scales of a fish (5 scales with gold scales or 3 with legendary scales) instantly whiout having to wait the fish to root…
Cooking isn’t really meant to give you u
Huge boosts. The bonuses are secondary to not starving.
ngl vetex should add restaurant tycoon 2’s cooking system into the game
Let’s be honest, the whole deal with cooking doesn’t feel… rewarding, enough. It doesn’t seem to give many benefits other than, hey, you get… food? With minor benefits?
There have been people who don’t do any cooking and there are effects that require so much rare food at once or such rare spices…
And then there are spices that rip out your hunger, and then there are foods that, should you have been a perfect chef, should’ve known how to actually MAKE more appealing than just a “gross meal.”
These are some interesting ideas. I’m not sure about the certain fish giving certain buffs, since that is the job of potions and food is meant to give long lasting but weaker buffs.
The idea of higher cooking skills giving more things like more scales from cooking is a good idea though. That could be expanded upon in other ways too (a high enough cooking level could allow you to get a bone whenever you cook a fish, higher level cooking could allow you to eat 6 or 7 times from a large meal instead of 5)
Yea cooking for me has always been a boring feature. It feels more like an annoyance than a good feature. Why bother going out of my way to cook when i can just eat a bunch of grapes. It saves me time and the buffs are just not worth it at all.
If you eat whatever you want irl you will die, but if you eat specific things you have different effects, like hipertrofia, or getting fat
Thats actually a really good ideia
All my character eats is pie, if obesity gets added hes gonna be white eyes sized, poor unhealthy mage man
Dude. All that charging has to pull energy from somewhere. So why not rapidly metabolize your fat stores into crystal shards?
Plus, you have to move a lot and gotta carry all those chests and crates somehow.
AND CLIMB OVERSIZED MOUNTAINS-
Bro with all due respect you are lacking AO culinary knowledge u clearly never cooked a recovery 4, invig 4, energizing 4, and agile 2 meal before and it shows. An expensive but bombastic meal it is. U can also do fortified 2 ig, but yeah you just don’t know about rare ingredients, the buffs ur searching for come with rare ingredients and sun caraway
We get it, you metameal.
The one thing I definitely want to see changed is the whole “tastes better/worse when cooked thing. I think it’d be cool if foods that taste better would give less buff duration but more hunger, and foods that taste worse would give longer buff durations and less hunger. So that cooking isn’t always just “load it up with sky pumpkins and call it a day”
It’d also be nice if spices were a bit more varied, but we should deal with the basic stuff first
This. All of this, please. This.
Who the FUCK do you think you are
I need this
If this were a suggestion, you’d be getting 1 star. We don’t need any more systems that encourage massive grinding.
there isnt that much grinding that i can see
There’s no “massive grinding” to that. Plus, the lack of potential options for food or choices in food to make better or worse effects…
I apologize, I didn’t read the suggestion well enough. I initially thought it added a feature that allowed Perfect tier cooks to get more scales from legendary fish, which would be unfair to lower level chefs.
