Ah shoot, the math aint mathing sorry
I feel that, I kept checking to make sure my math/logic was right cause I was paranoid lol
If Calvus gets the Cloud curse:
- He can turn into a cloud whenever, and most likely will be able to fly.
- Cloud is like wind, right? So maybe Calvus do the funny 400 intensity wind mage thingy?
Anyway, assuming that Calvus fights MC with all his other attributes the same,
Canât he just turn into a cloud whenever to dodge attacks, and just fly away if he is losing?
Also, even thought itâs a weak curse, Julian was able to one shot MC. A curse is a curse, I doubt MC could still defeat Calvus.
Like Iâve said in the topic itself and multiple replies in this scenario the mc can still hit him even without magic so its actually possible to beat him, so no he canât just turn into a cloud to dodge he still has to actually get out of the way.
I also said in the post he canât leave the throne room either, again so the player actually stands a chance, please actually read the post instead of just the title.
Just because the throne room is enclosed doesnât mean he canât fly in it. He could hypothetically build momentum by flying around the room then impale the player.
Iâm not saying he canât fly, he just canât fly away if heâs losing like the other comment is suggesting.
We did fight Curse users in Arcane Adventures. And indeed, melee attacks and weapons do not harm them at all. But anything magic related will do the trick just enough.
As far as I remember, AA died before Rupin got released. You are probably talking about uncanon AR. Or I am having a memory loss.
Anyway, AO got much wider development for curse users, so I think we will meet absolutely different battle from what we have seen in AR.
But its just my opinion.
magma man exists
Oh yeah. Still doesnât changes anything, cuz every class in AO can damage curse users.
I was talking about our fight against Trigno on the Rumbling Caldera, though it probably doesnât happen in lore, itâs still an indication on how we fought a curse user gameplay wise.
Since AO has added auras, it should allows us to beat up curse users perfectly fine with any build.
But you see difference in AAâs combat and AOâs combat. Curse users probably will be on the next lvl of mobility⌠imagine Calvus, but without need to summon circles or charge attacks.
If Calvus isnât dumb and doesnât try to use his magic while having the curse, no, the MC loses that fight, we ainât built enough for a curse user at that point (unless the user was a dumbass that tries to use his own magic alongside his curse).
Though I can definitely see Calvus trying to use his aether magic if the mc pushes him too much, considering his life-long habit of trying to use as much stuff as he can together during a fight, and that would lead to him losing.
how would his magic weaken him? i know using water magic as a fire curse user would harm you but cloud and aether dont sound like they clash
When you absorb a curse (I donât actually know if this also happens for External curses like Lazarus), that curse kinda overrides your magic. Since itâs adjusting your body and character to itself, your body and magic is now mostly the curse, trying to use your original magic(s) would be useless, since they would either clash with the curseâs magic or be way too weak to do any damage (people that remember or recently read up on curses, please correct me if Iâm wrong about this, itâs been a while since I checked).
In this case, even if trying to use his magic wouldnât hurt Calvus, it would definitely leave him open for an attack, and that would allow the MC to actually hurt him enough to get the advantage in the fight and win.
We literally fought Ramses in the first sea and you could fight Arsen in Alalea
Also ya Trigno
when was it said that curses override/weakens magics?
averill did not have the light curse in the second sea
Ya mb
