The rules might be more lax in #Trusted-Lads, but this was clearly just spam, please don’t do it anymore.
I don’t think mentions can be merged the way replies and other notifications can, as they are meant to be like a more important thing that should stand on it’s own. This was just a case of abusing that property.
Why don’t you just mute it?
