Its stated by Allanon that the King listens to her “every whim” ever since he married. When its time to read the letter, he first looks at her to which she indicates “no” with her head. If you think about it, its weird he married her so quickly after his last wife died.
The King wants peace to his kingdom. Lucian and the Queen probably wanted to keep the kingdom ethnically pure even though she doesnt show it. She’s just pretending to be nice. She’s an order member and is controlling the King.
Also, the King has gotten sick lately? Lol. Who’d benefit from that? Lucian and the Queen. Lucian tried to kill Allanon and his spouse so that he can rise to power eventually. Which also benefits the order as they’d have another “Calvus” on their hands as another head of a kingdom.
Everything points to this. Even the way she talks is so obvious that she’s trying to get him what she wants him to do. This seems pretty obvious.
there might be some dumb plot twist that those two (or one of them) isn’t actually part of the order of aesir but considering this is written by vetex this is to be very expected
You know the idea that a higher order member is somehow someone usually aided or manipulated into getting position could suggest that the order itself could be pawns to a single higher member.

To be fair a hybrid sky sea ship is a stupid idea IMO
It would be way better to just make it so that the ship has sort of an improved storage of Magic Energy or the ability to re-create the magic necessary via a magic user or from the environment instead.
Personally I think enchant magic could have an application that could be used to either improve or absorb more magic energy from the environment while having a sort of conversion mechanic internally built and it could have added again by enchant magic which would last a long time before needing maintainance.
oh yeah she also tells us before we go after allanon that she’d send lucian and a few guards to help but that never happens lmao. In fact, the king reaches us at nimbus wilds before any guard is even seen along with lucian so i think she was just trying to trick us or get us confident idk
she also pictures allanon as insane in front of the king that is trying to calm him down
