sir, i saw that you used “Get Good,” as opposed to “git gud”
I’m going to have to revoke your living license now.

Not dynamic enough, sadly.
You’re honestly just repeating the same 5 or so tasks over and over as you interact with those NPCs.
having certain high level areas doesn’t work with WoM’s open world because people can spawn in any town starting players are gonna get plopped in the high level areas
me too (10 chars)
It would be cool if the outer regions of the map were full of starting towns, but as you got closer to the center, the areas got more difficult.
Like I know this isn’t what he has planned, but it would be a decent alternative.
So how exactly will the level progressions throughout the map work, with the higher level NPCs.
The whole point of what makes WoM’s open worldness good and unique is that high levels should be mixed with the low levels(But high levels being rarer).
The magic council and other good reps are looking for bad reps in hiding everywhere, so If there is a whole renowned town full of powerful bad reps then that just wouldn’t work out. It would be dumb if they all flocked to “guaranteed” places just based on their level.
So, the good people have to disperse randomly leveled people in random places because the bad people are everywhere and they can’t know for sure where they will be next. Simple.
Ok, that sounds about right I guess.
I think more bosses with area of effect and dodging mechanics would really help out, since all the npcs have this aimbot(ish) mechanic, it would be a nice change (like Verdies)
I agree that Apprentice quest shouldn’t be almost a kilometer of traveling distance.
I think almost all of them are right, but remember this is the prologue. Vetex didn’t add any chapters yet. So I think it just an introduction storyline for new players.
If chapter 1 continue to be like the prologue then rip.
I agree so much. I have been levelling up but god its so annoying i don’t feel like i am progress. In a game like WoM, what players need is a challenge and a sense of progress. The challenge so far needs some work but finding quests is all a gamble. I want structured randomness, like civilians have a 50% of spawning a starter quest or a lvl 20 magic scout is 45% more likely to spawn a starter quest and 30% likely to spawn a novice quest compared to a lvl 40 magic council with a chance of spawning 60% novice quest, 30% chance of apprentice and 10% of starters and yes we need some consistency. I dislike the feeling of not knowing where to go to find quests for my level. It’s all a gamble and i don’t feel security. Certain arears should be more likely to have quests like maybe the north is filled with more higher level quests than the south so i at least know where to go than walking randomly. The quests in this game need to be fixed asap cuz every time i play this game i feel tired, no satisfaction from all the searching
Also some people say they like the randomness. It is possible to make a game random but humans like patterns and consistency. So it is more smarter to make structured randomness to make it feel ‘random’ than implementing random stuff with no consistency. Just like in the example above, it is possible, vetex just gotta fix the it
The more quests thing will kinda already be done when more populated towns are added, like the capital, and also quest boards for guilds.
I honestly couldn’t care less if the rates of things were increased, as long as everything is still random I’m fine with it.
Humans like patterns and consistency? That’s just what young impressionable minds like. But for people like me, we like it when a game has realistic mechanics like the universal laws that everything has at least some randomness.
the randomness gives more satisfaction when you get something rare. Of course i could be a bit more…concrete but its fine for now
I don’t want WoM to be 100% concrete. Sure i’m all for having some fixed structures and SOME guarantees, but that’s not the type of game vetex is trying to create. If it was, he would’ve done that from the start. I think it’s well established that this game will not have “strong” or “weak” areas like many others. The ranting phase of the forum is over, it’s not doing anything positive anymore. While you did bring up some good points, all we can do is drop the game for now and come back later.
That’s really all we can do rn, not even worth ranting anymore.
You’re asking for something a game cannot possibly give you. You can argue that every goal in a game is empty with that mindset tbh.
My interpretation of an empty goal is something that you can achieve, but once you do so there’s basically no replayability. You get there, and then do what with it? The only reason you’re even trying to grind is to flex on others and show off yourself.
There should be a reason to come back and keep playing, even if you’ve already completed every game-assigned goal. Adaptive gameplay and limited amounts of procedural generation could fix this quite easily.
^^^
Instant proof that the game is boring atm.
Adaptive gameplay and limited amounts of rng won’t solve the empty goal situation. I think the solution we should be looking for is more difficulty, making it harder to level up, and some sort of way to make a huge skill gap.
Think about it, games like R6 and CSGO have people still playing is because they want to get better at the game. The goal for those games is to be the best in the world or at least close to that.
This is why WoM needs to make leveling up an actual accomplishment and proof of hard effort and also some kind of tweaks to the combat to make the game more competitive.
Getting rid of rng will just get rid of the quality, as I said before
Plus the game is already dynamic with its randomness and if that’s not enough then it will already be more dynamic with all of the various features and magic combinations to be added in the future.
Although, I do agree that having to grind for things like drops is bad and doesn’t even make sense because you can SEE the gear on them but you can’t get it anyways, ultimately causing absolutely cancer things like boss raids.
Yes it is basic, but it took longer than any other update (yes I understand you 20 and have a life don’t come at me )
That’s because he spent that time getting rid of 98% of bugs
I can see some of the things, and I do agree with some (such as fixed bosses) but to be honest this is less of a game discussion topic and more of a #suggestions topic. If you want to make suggestions for improving the game, please post them in #suggestions.
