So, with the current way the Dark Sea is generated Islands tend to generate less often as you go out through the Dark Sea’s Reaches, This concept on its own is flawed and leads to less incentive to go deeper into the Dark Sea due to the sheer fact that your on average going to be running into less islands which in turn means less loot, which obviously isn’t the idea behind further reaches, so I propose a new Idea. An Idea that promotes exploration into the deeper regions of the sea and provides further incentive to go deeper into the dark sea completely different then how the average player would right now.
Heres the Idea I propose: Islands Generate on average smaller and less “extreme” the closer you are to the War Seas Cluster and the deeper you go in the larger the islands become and the more extreme, this in the long run would promote exploration to farther reaches of the Dark Sea since as it is right now even if the level cap increased an insane amount lets say to 325. People would still not bother past W0 and W1 of the Dark Sea due to the lack of point to why you’d want to search for islands that far out that generate at the same randomness as say islands in W0/W1 which is much easier to traverse and gives basically the same rewards. The question you might be asking when considering this suggestion for the first time is Why would we want this? Wouldn’t future content be added to alleviate this issue? My Opinion? No. I don’t think this issue specifically will be alleviated in the future and to retain the feel of exploration and going farther in the Dark Sea be worth it, something like what im suggesting would be beneficial to keeping the Dark Sea relevant and fun to traverse which in its current form island wise it is not, Since your praying on Randomness to be on your side and giving you good Island Generation.
Notes: Just because Islands tend to generate smaller or larger depending on where you are doesnt mean it HAS to be that way, it can still vary but not as majorly as it did before, for example in the early ranges islands on the smaller range can still have chances to spawn decently bigger sized islands but not to the same degree of randomness as before, and vice versa occurs in like the furthest reaches of the Dark Sea, specifically Insanity 5 where Larger Islands would tend to spawn more but medium sized islands can still spawn.
TLDR; Change Island Generation Formula to Incentivize Exploration into further Reaches of the Dark Sea.
