today i checked out AO for the new deckhand fishing mechanic
i deployed my ship and did some stuff around ravenna, which involes completing the Fishing For Gold quest in Tiberia

HOLY SHIT I GOT A SHARK FROM A DECKHAND

i went to Palo town to dig up a treasure chart, took a while, but got it done

HOLY SHIT I GOT ANOTHER SHARK FROM THE SAME DECKHAND

i wanted to head back to ravenna for another treasure chart there, but i went to speedrun eating food, leaving my character in Palo Town secret location before going afk

HOLY SHIT A DECKHAND GOT ME A STINGRAY

i went to ravenna after doing some diving, i unloaded my ship and tried to dig up a treasure chart
i gave up because i couldnt find it

HOLY SHIT THE SAME DECKHAND FISHED UP A COLLOSAL SQUID

i got 2 collosal squids from mine
I also got 2 gigantic fish. cooked them up. got a meal for 800 food

I got legendary fish from castaways at best. Still waiting for deckhands to get good ad this point

They can catch golden rare fish, so very rarely they can be a source of free legendary scales

nope, vetex states in changelogs that they cant catch items
they want food, so they get food, they dont fish items
