At the end of chapter 9, Akeem stayed behind to burn the Fenrir while we escaped since Jarson, the Lunar Curse wielding son of Wotan, was approaching. And apparently it took us three whole days to arrive back at Sameria after the raid… What do you think happened to Akeem? Is he going to be returning to Sameria too, either slightly behind or slightly ahead of us? Or did he meet a worse fate, tragically sacrificing himself for the war?
We know we’re going to be fighting our first curse user (besides Ormolu) very soon, right? And chapter 10 has two “very difficult” boss fights. Seems like the time.
For a first curse user fight (with the sole exception of Ormolu of course), it would make sense if they either:
Had a weak curse
Are fresh with their curse
If Akeem was captured or killed by Jarson, maybe we’re going to fight the Storm Curse’s next user as a boss in chapter 10. Storm is a powerful curse, but they’ll be completely new with it, so it should be a balanced fight.
If Akeem was kept alive as a hostage after the curse extraction in the same way Beringer was, it may even be possible we can rescue him and return his curse to him after slaying its new user, but that’s a pretty wild prediction. Still, would be funny to gain the Storm Curse, lose it, and then gain it back, lol. I wonder if he’d keep 100% of his power with it or if he would have to adjust to the curse all over again.
This is kind of a separate subject from the main point, but I’m curious who everybody thinks the first curse user we fight in the storyline will be?
I think akeem is going to be compromised in his fight and will be away for a while, then the ravenna army arrives with a google doc on our group which will get us arrested, but seeing that akeem is nowhere to be found, nillah will feel forced to free us and let us help in the war

Akeem dies to Jarson and then Jarson makes his way over to sameria just to get stopped by Nilah, the Sun Curse user. it literally only makes sense the sun curse user vs the lunar (moon) curse user happens, what happens is that Jarson fights us and Nilah at the same time while Iris and Morden go evacuate the civilians and get off the island, we eventually do end up winning the battle but Nilah dies because Jarson took her out along with him in his final breath
the final boss of CH10: Tiwaz
the Scorching Dunes in sameria is just the most OBVIOUS boss arena ever for the Tiwaz, the Frostmetal Curse user and there is NO DENYING IT. it’s a wide flat area in the middle of no where in a hot region and the boss uses a cold magic. wonder what’ll happen to the hot area? its 100% getting frozen over by Tiwaz.
and then we eventually beat Tiwaz due to plot but he flees because warren shows up just in time before he kills us (he appears once per sea)
also no shade or hate but any other option except for maybe julian i just dont see possible
it takes years to master a curse and its unknown if the ravenna realm or if the order has it
i dont think a keraxe thane just walks around with a devourer and what are the chances they find the storm curse almost immeidately after akeem dies and again it takes years to master a curse
any other boss would just have to be a bounty hunter from the thorne empire or a grand navy admiral because we commited regicide
i doubt jarson would just let a thane absorb the curse right away instead of taking it to keraxe’s curse vault
vetex said (ranked) julian was one of the characters he looked foward the most to see take action in the story so that makes me think he’s also not the boss because why would vetex be excited about him getting beat up then never being seen again
it’s probably some random curse user that will have some made up in the spot reason to be fighting us, realistically
high chance that part will just be a cutscene though but itd be cool if the battle is more based on strategy and support to give morden an opening to kill/repel tiwaz
like a gimmicky type of fight with iris and some others as ally npcs since fighting an experienced curse user head on is fucking stupid and we will die
Who, Tiwaz? He injured Iris, killed a captain, and destroyed Rosehenge though. He and Jarson have been important.
I can’t remember if Baldur has done anything. I’m pretty confident Donar hasn’t, though
I think the first curse user fight will be Baldur to show the difference between a magic user and curse user, as we fought Calvus with his aether magic, and Baldur has the Aether curse, so you connect the dots.
i dont think its really possible to survive curse extraction, at this point your body is the magic itself. for Beringer, he was already ‘dead’ and purposefully kept barely alive because whatever truth serum they used only worked on people on the verge of death or something like that. he probably could not have recovered.
though if somehow the curse was brought to Akeem in that limited time where he’s artificially kept alive, who knows. maybe it could work.
