dOES hOMOphobia EXist in ARcaneverse?

helllnah
vetex said homosexuality does exist but its not shunned or anything.

Man, the spiders don’t deserve this

High heels used to be an invention for REAL MEN until WOMEN ruined it. I’m half joking.

Mari. Go to sleep. I can sense the devprivation through the forums.

pulling up with high heels was the aura back then

Answer is no, arcaneverse seems to be secular so society wouldnt accept homos

did this really need to be revived after four months

homophobia doesn’t exist because homosexuals don’t exist

you, the player

as the player I am not allowed to romance any of the characters or express any desire to, and thus I cannot bring the foreign concept of homosexuality into the verse with my limited dialog options

It is not about your actions within Arcane Odyssey, but about the fact you’re playing Arcane Odyssey

A gay man within a gay bar is not gay for dating twinks, or bears, or tanks, he is gay by being in a gay bar

It is not about the fact I’m playing Arcane Odyssey, but about the fact that if I am the only homosexual in the game, and I have no dialog to express it, then there can’t be homophobes because they’ve never heard of a homosexual existing

Kinda what stock said already but yeah homophobia doesn’t exist in ao because homosexuality does not exist in ao. Vetex just doesn’t want to write any lgbt+ characters into ao out of fear of doing it wrong, which is kinda stupid but on the other hand I get it because he can’t even write straight characters properly

Hate to be that guy, but can I has source plz

Speaking of which, you got me curious on that reasoning for avoiding writing queer characters.

Would You Rather…
  • Have LGBT+ representation in media made by an uninformed cishet (non-queer) person, even if it ends up being done wrong (so “It’s the thought that counts”)
  • Have no LGBT+ representation in media done by an uninformed cishet (non-queer) person (so “Better to learn before writing the character”)

The last thing pop culture needs is more stereotypes being created. If the queer rep is inauthentic or sends bad messages I do think it’d be better to not have it at all.

I second this. I do want more aro/ace/aroace rep though we’re just lurking in the shadows :wilted_flower:

AYYYYY I’m acespec

Good point, suppose we have enough stereotypes as-is.

actually there are at least two and he did them pretty well imo

(art found on reddit since for some reason i could not find a single good image of them side by side)
