Its mentioned many times that minimized risk uses galleons from the plunder and patrol tasks to repair the ships. Despite that, I still have to repair my ship every day for a couple thousand galleons> Does minimize profit actually do anything? Or should I just turn on maximize…
pretty sure all it does is refill your supplies/food bar
Okay I might want to keep it on
I’d suggest keeping maximum risk on instead. Usually having a singular ship on patrol while the rest is recovering is enough to fill up strength, food, and supplies while also providing some profit. Do note that it does take a while, for it to completely fill up, though.
You sure? Ill test it out then…
Can I do a task with this setup? like 1 trade, 1 plunder and 2 recover?
2 recover is recommended cause it ensures your strength loss is either heavily reduced or even mitigated. 1 patrol/plunder is for passively regaining food and supplies though they did try to nerf that. The last ship is then your chosen task like trading or harvesting. So yes, you can do a task with it. The other three ships are ensuring your strength and food/supplies aren’t taking very fast while also passively gaining followers which you’ll need for more ships. Minimize risk starts not being effective at some point, as at some point you have to use maximize profit when your fleet gets larger. The fleet system isn’t entirely passive so you still have to pay attention to it from time to time to make sure you don’t lose ships.
I currently make around 40k galleons with minimize risk… How much better exactly is maximize?
How big is your fleet at this moment? Usually minimize risk is taking a portion of what profits you earn for passively repairing the ships in your fleet, though it only serves to reduce the rate of damage your ships are taking before you have to fully repair them manually.
I have about 6700 followers, about 5000 active
And what ship are you using in your fleet?
Mostly brigs and ketches but ive been using every ship as of a couple days ago
I’m definitely gonna sound like a broken record player saying this, but make sure you go for brigs since most of the time higher number of individual ships = Higher repair costs and more profits lost, and lower tier ships like sailboats and caravels don’t let you look away from your fleet screen to do other stuff for as long as they can sink faster. Using lower tier ships to reduce your inactive follower count is fine though, as having inactive followers can reduce the followers you passively gain through patrol/plunder.
Just know replacing the ships with brigs can require a lot of patience and mental fortitude. ![]()
Yeah, I go for brigs everytime I see them… Not fun just having brigs thought cause its painful and really annoying, even with sinking bank ships and having max notoriety…
I just did a day w/ maximize profit… and didnt have a notable increase in profits that I feel like is worth switching. I usually repair all ships at the end of the day and its only a quarter of my profits for all of them.
I see. Well in the end it is personal preference, so I’d say just do whatever feels best for you.
Ill try to max out my fleet and then start testing… I think alternating between max and min would be cool cause minimize refills supplies
The bigger your fleet grows the less you get from minimizing risk. Upon reaching around 6000 active followers my fleet started to provide negative profit despite having good management. Either it was a bug or minimizing risk formula grows in a way where it becomes a cancer at high amount of followers.
Good to know… If this happens, ill switch to max!
