whips would be peak shit
i havent played castlevania but ive played vampire survivors which is close enough
idk about whips, you could probably use mesh deformation for that (the thing that layered clothing uses)
for chains you could use trails, kinda like in this video (not mine)
it wouldnt be difficult animating them, just very tedious
