Upon completing a Dragonblood Ritual, you can click on it in the info tab, and that will change your Spirit colour from divine to regular, or from regular to divine.
This would make it so that players having various Spirit colours would have an in-game lore explaination, and it would allow for better looking builds, as some might prefer blue & purple, and some might prefer gold & red.
A small addition - this could potencially be made more complex, where you can change your Spirit colour to evil(purple/red), good(cyan/yellow), or neutral(blue/???). For this, neutral(I’m pretty sure neutral is a thing right?) would have a green or orange divine colour, as green is a very lacking colour in this game, and orange is a combination of red and yellow.
As for the reasoning - diversity in vanity, and explaination of why there are so many people with divine Spirit colours.
Yeah tbh vetex complains way too much when people ask for him to add to the game something that would massively improve the game but doesn’t adhere to the lore for someone who half the time explains stuff with “it’s magic”
this probably wont be added since spirit colors have lore behind them, and divine spirit energy is specifically for people who have both spirit and magic due to lore as well
Honestly the color thing is the most boring way to do it; I feel like Vetex just didn’t want to make too many VFX for spirit when he also had to do it for magic… If Vetex just had each Spirit variant use a different set of VFX, we could have the lore thing and give us more color options:
Divine-Good could have light-ray like VFX; Divine-Evil could have Tendril like effects; Good-Spirit could have lightning-like VFX; Evil-Spirit could be more flame-like; and pre-alignment (before you defeat Elius) could keep the basic cloudy VFX… Then we’d have the freedom to get any color and keep the lore basis.
i agree things could be different but id imagine vetex is biased against changing his lore too much because of how many chuds are going to start whining “waaaa the retcon curse is reall!!” unironically
anyway i do like your idea on how a revamped spirit alignment could go
Well tbh the retcon curse is mostly when vetex changes parts of the lore unbeknownst to the community that don’t have an effect on gameplay after said parts have been well-established and widely known in the community as true, when vetex has for a long time had something else entirely in his mind.
