Economic now

How many people noticed that with the full release, the game economy started to crumble? Acriomy is now very easy to obtain, and the money itself has become very cheap. With the advent of the fleet, resources have become much easier to obtain.

How you think, economy will die?

Acrimonies aren’t everything.
just because the bitcoin dies doesn’t mean you can’t reasonably purchase an egg anymore.

The problem is that exotic scrolls are now cheaper, too. And with the addition of daily quests, sanken will also become cheaper. But players have a lot more money.

die might be too definitive a word, but yeah it’s pretty fucked up and probably will be for a while

I don’t think the game’s economy will die, however it’ll certainly take a turn for the worse.

The fleet system is going to inflate the economy to the point of no return, with loot from DS chests becoming far less valuable than it once was (conquest fleet task).
Sunkens will also lose some value once people start getting the Sunken Bags from completion points.
The value of acrimonies is now essentially their sell price, as they’re a lot more abundant (both with new players coming in to get them and legendary chests consistently providing one).

Newer players trying to get into the market will struggle, as most boss drops aren’t valued and the best ways to make drachmae are locked behind a lot of playtime. Even getting lucky with a legendary chest may not give them the needed foothold (though it may help a lot with getting a fleet going, the majority of the system will still be locked and those with it all unlocked are the ones who will dominate the economy).

The economy has taken too big a hit to recover from in the near future. The Fleet System is a major cause of this in my eyes. A system that requires heavy investment, yet provides the most profit of anything in the game. Such a thing is guaranteed to benefit the already wealthy, driving down the value of the Drachma and anything obtainable from the system.

tl;dr: rip economy for the time being

thank god i don’t have to lose my mind trading no more

If money is easier to get, and everything is cheaper, isn’t that just a positive thing?

For you and me, yes!
For new players that are stuck grinding worthless shit that won’t sell while watching the prices of every decent thing skyrocket far above their reach, no!

It’s hilarious that the arcane odyssey community has a whole economy which can be prone to inflation and deflation

Most mmorpgs do have that

Honestly though, I have to admit I haven’t seen the effect you’ve been talking about.

If anything, the fleet system introducing so much supply for stuff has forced me to start lowering my prices.
Now don’t get me wrong, I’m still making more money because I have more supply, but everything’s worth a little bit less now.

No, the economy won’t die. People will still want things they don’t have yet, people will still have things in excess that others want, and people can still exchange things.

I’m sure the game’s online player base will drop back to 2,000 players within a month. And those players will have far more money than they did before the full release. Just imagine how much the prices of truly rare items, like Hecate Taxi and Moly, will skyrocket.

i mean, old wealth dies a bit but overall i think its much healthier for the gameplay. yeah, acrimony value will probably get gutted, but at least stat resets are hella more accessible
and this is coming from someone who literally never reset their stat since the initial release, i just think its cool for the others

like just forget about trading and think about how it feels to play solo without relying on others. i think its a step in the right direction to be less grindy

how is that a bad thing? doesnt this mean better gear will be more accesible to newer players?

why would you need a hecate taxi anymore.
I’ve been finding them consistently while hunting for far reaches animals.

I’ve also been finding moly while doing the same thing lol.
I understand how that could be an issue… since far reaches after screwing yourself with blood diseases…

When trying find hecate i lose minimum 10 hours

With the galleon inflation we might go back to a pre-marketplace system where bartering is the main form of trade.
