I agree with the advice, I also agree that needing to record 24/7 is a bullshit approach to being unbanned from a game, but the problem is there is no other way around it atm
Letâs say this:
I end up exploiting, make my level 125 in 10 minutes because it took me that long to boot up the exploit and gaslight myself into thinking Iâll get away with it, I get banned, post a ticket, ticket gets denied, so I do the following:
I get on forums and wherever the hell, I make up a story about being banned for level exploiting, the story can be as believable as âI got banned for level exploits when I farmed the mage pre-nerf, but the mods refused to believe meâ, or even better, make it be said by a person who claims to be their friend and claims that they would never exploit so that itâs even more âbelievableâ⌠this is a pretty common trope in exploits that happen in game speedruns that require recording so Iâm taking it mainly with a grain of salt because Iâve seen it somewhere else
Now imagine youâre a mod, what do you do with this information?
Call the person guilty? No, that probably doesnât happen, I think itâs mostly players who push the âguilty until proven innocentâ
Unban the person? Okay, you know that the anticheat banned them, you donât know whether theyâre innocent or not because all theyâve given you is a story, no proof, you donât even know if the story is true
Try to test if the story is true? I donât think this is a good option if itâs just one person that proposes it because it means tickets would take much longer to fix, and thereâs the option that theyâve just made up the story. In hindsight Iâd also say that this is more of a tester job
Simply say theyâre not getting unbanned until they find proof? Works like a charm because theyâve not provided you with enough evidence to get unbanned
Thereâs no platform that lets you get unbanned with 0 proof, even steam with one of the (imo) best tech supports doesnât let you do this, but due to it being a platform it gives you more ways to prove yourself as innocent. This is harder when weâre talking about a game if youâre not recording, unless someone can provide a decent fix which doesnât slow down pretty much all other systemsâŚ
Again, Iâm not saying this is true, Iâm saying take it with a grain of salt especially when all youâre given is a story and a potential way to replicate it, except replicating it would take like 5 hours for you due to you need to level to get to that point. It can be true, it might be true, but literally you donât knowâŚ
Yeah Iâd say thereâs a potential issue with the anticheat if thereâs so many people complaining about it, but the problem is that might not be true when you consider there being 40k people. Thereâs probably a lot of people that WILL try to exploit the game and then try to avoid the consequences by claiming itâs a false ban. Again, that might not be true either, but how is it any less plausible than any of the stories provided by the people who claim they got falsely banned? Even the OP here could just be lying, which Iâm not saying he is, he might not be, or he might be, but at this current state do you really think itâs enough to get him unbanned unless someone PROVES his story to be true?
