taking a deep breathe gets you renown in ao, you literally cannot avoid it
killing atlanteans in bumfuck nowhere still gives you fame, as with sirens
and its not like i can ignore them when they deal 100 per m1 and 200 per skill while having 3k hp
i cant tell if this chat is still civilized
Compared to how bad some threads get, this is still decently civilised
Not trying to have people agree with me, just pointing out the problems that fame lock would bring.
Iâve been neutral for what, 3 months or more now and it literally isnât hard to stay as one. People points out that being neutral means not being able to play the game since anything affects your reputation when it doesnât.
-
You can kill npcs that arent in boats/towns/bandit camps which wonât affect your reputation. An example being ravenna npcs IN FORT TALOS.
-
Killing bosses doesnt affect your reputation as a neutral.
-
If youâre sinking ships for loots, thereâs already other alternatives such as diving spots and sea charts. They literally give more loot than ships. If youâre in the dark sea, ignore atlantean ships by having a faster boat.
-
Completing treasure charts doesnât affect reputation.
-
This I understand but you only need to complete every quest once new story chapters comes out then reset reputation. You only need to do this for idk, every major update as stated by vetex. Every major update releases in what, 2-3 months, which would only cost around 50-100 galleons if you arenât over 50K reputation, not that hard.
-
Youâre tryna get fish or galleons in the most inefficient way when crew fishing exists. They exist just to boost your reputation, give me a reason why a neutral would bother with them.
-
Why does that matter, it doesnt affect gameplay.
-
Now this is what I meant, yaâll want invisibility in the board by being lazy. Youâre probably in a clan trying to get easy infamy by doing it in the safest way where they cant hunt you but you can hunt them. Get real.
-
This is understandable, rivals right now are the efficient way to obtain exotic and legendary scrolls but if youâre a neutral, all it does it give you fame which can be reduced for free by just destroying windows or buildings. Let me give you a tip, below 100 reputation would make you neutral so just stick with destroying windows when youâre near that number.
-
Youâre probably just there to get the badge, itâs a one time thing, why would you attack silverhold again when you almost have no reason to do that. If you want to free your criminal friends, free them then reset at the commissioner, you dont have to sail all the way to white summit.
-
Join then reset reputation. It would cost you literally only 50 galleons.
Everyoneâs exaggerating when I can play the game normally as a neutral for months now. Cant blame them though, itâs a common tactic by lazy people to exaggerate things so that it can be changed into something easier to do.
Avoiding things that affect your reputation isnât hard, the only problem is the story quests and side quests. If new ones are released, they can be completed in a week unless youâre taking your time, then reset reputation and all you need to do is wait 2-3 months but possibly 4 months now since vetex is planning on adding story chapters along major updates which would add time on developing.
Im assuming you meant hunting rivals but yeah thatâs understandable but if youâre a neutral rep, it would always give you fame which can be easily brought down by destroying windows or buildings for free. If youâre near 100 reputation, go with destroying windows since they only reduce rep by 20 and once you go below 100 even just by 1 number, it automatically make you neutral.
Diving spots and sea charts are better alternatives if all you want is loot. All you need is 100% air capacity jewels if you dont want to waste a lot of galleons on getting auric seaweed. Yeah sea charts have sharks and you may have heat-based magic/fs but any class can use a bow, itâs fast even underwater and it does the job better, even more if youâre a weapon-based class since it gives more m1 damage.
Yeah because money isnât tied to any side which is why Thorin is still neutral despite both sides of reputation comes in to do business with him. Money is equal to everything, both virtual and reality.
Idk how vetex would feel about this since vetex doesnt want any form of permanent protection. If ever, it would have a huge balance similar to how tier 5 love gives permanent effect only to one player throughout all the servers.
Speaking of vetex, I probably shouldnt bother anymore in this post considering itâs up to him if he wants to add a reputation locking feature. If this gets added, he would need to have a rework in mind regarding reputation since quite literally, no one would want to have either of the side unless youâre a pvphead which arent that many to begin with. At best, reputation locking should have a huge balance such as not being able to damage any player/npc aside from bosses or story-related npcs but they can damage you.
My guy takes to vandalism and not playing the game to stay neutral. Then he calls not wanting to be disrupted lazy.
Also why you killing npcs in fort talos specifically just kill Argos.
And you just gonna let your ship be sunk if pirates or AS boats attack it?
kid named dark sea expeditions
yes.
and whenever you want to you can just go back
ship fights are fun for some people.
Bro please stop exaggerating, youâre making it look like staying neutral is really that hard when it isnât. Iâve been legitimately neutral for months throughout most of the time playing the game and I can still play the game normally and do anything that I need to do. For proof:
Like I said, itâs not hard
Forgot to answer this
The npcs there doesnt affect your reputation and thereâs lots of them there, if youâre a fighting style-based class, you can farm guards in there to fill your mastery up to max.
AS wont attack you if youâre neutral, unless you aggro them. Pirates would only aggro on you if youâre near them while steering your boat.
My G, ignore the atlanteans. If thereâs a ship, you can get them stuck on the side of the islands. If you want something, thereâs always a way, that includes staying neutral
Thatâs fair ig
Me when i can do whatever i want without being forced to pvp
Maybe make doing renown tasks (anything that increases/decreases renown) contribute to clan infamy (u get more infamy for doing things while renown locked and lose slightly more)
have it charge a rate going off of renown.
once you reach a certain amount (kept track of on your file so it doesnât reset when you change server.) you are charged maybe 250 every 25k renown (sending a fine or in this case bill to you whenever you hit the mark). With a bounty penalty if you fail or refuse to pay up.
I get why people reset their renown but like this game has in its DNA emergent pvp. And a 100% safety net should not be one and done.
i am entirely saying just bounty hunting. those toxic people who will just kill can still do that (while gaining nothing but maybe a little bounty for murder)
that or its both bounty and assassination but you work for both so idk why they would kill you for that
for syndicate and navy ranks it shouldnt let you get demoted so just from losing your fame or bounty and maybe a former title ( maybe only for top 5 ) for files that got to there and left or arent it anymore, and master angler badge when, i can see this being a thing but you have to talk to some guy in syndicate hidden somewhere and he tells you, that you cant draw attention to yourself so you CANT stop executions, CANT break anyone out, CANT take player contracts or posters etc, etc,
everyone who put ideas, i read them their all pretty good
