Itās pretty reasonable, yeah. But then thereās magics that donāt really have multiple variants, so it kind of falls flat there. Then thereās also the uncertainty of whether or not most lost/ancient magics would get variants too.
Thereās also non-magic builds to take account of. While I get that this is specifically vanity for mages, I oughta point out that every vanity gamepass can be enjoyed by everyone who buys it without needing to wipe or make another file.
I think that the game needs to be cooked for a while longer before this suggestion comes in.
Still think cycling through them would be preferable
Before it was wiped from the trello multiple lost magics had a few different variations, I believe darkness was one of them

If there is lore that exists SOLELY to say ālol no you canāt do X otherwise obvious player choiceā then fuck that lore, ESPECIALLY if it gets in the way of vanity or restricts, once again, otherwise obvious choices that players should have.
I actually agree, this would make more sense as a base feature but Iād suggest making it a high level thing. Maybe starting at 125

nah having a story is good and makes the game really stand out more than it otherwise already would.
lore should absolutely never stand in the way of gameplay, though.
what are your thoughts on the free stat reset and interchange potion?
Being able to change what class you are makes sense, logically a mage could decide to stop using their magic and instead focus on their body or weapon mastery, and vice versa.
what about redoing your first awakening letting you choose a different second magic?
now that one i see as a slight issue
but only possible due to how the awakening system works, so kinda unavoidable
