that shield is not structurally effective, what if someone hits her hand?
Shield acts more as a weapon (the three spikes at the bottom are used for slamming into enemies) plus i have a feeling skyhall doesnt get into too many conflicts, so a lot of their weapons and armor are flashy and just for show.

I know the shield is just for style points, but the gaping holes just make the shield kinda pointless. The whole point of them is to literally block projectiles and attacks and is just vulnerable to stabs and literally any range weaponry. It doesn’t help with the fact IT’S LITERALLY WHERE YOU HOLD THE SHIELD
