Recently I’ve been trying to practice some art stuff, like usual, and I came across this artist who’s work is really good, however, they seem to do this… overlay thing? That I don’t really entirely understand beyond the fact that it’s some sort of color burn layer to give shadows. Would really appreciate if any other artist here could give me some pointers on what’s going on here, which, I know, sounds crazy coming from the #1 arthub hater, but I digress. Also, if anyone could translate how to replicate this process in Krita, that would be greatly appreciated
Assuming this gets figured out and the piece that I’m working on is finished, I’ll share the results on the forum for you guys to see for yourselves
the way they seem to be using it is by making the whole Linear burn layer a dark tone and then using the eraser tool with a watercolor effect? to shade
i rarely use filters though (mspaint and magma are my domains) so take what i say for granted and just test it yourself
