My headcannon is that they are red (just like the whole atmosphere around Akursius Keep) because it represents spirit energy of all victims there. And since their deaths were in fact very ruthless that might have corrupted them turning everything around purple and when Chaos destroyed the island its magic energy came into contact with this spirit energy turning it bloody red.

“Lightning but Red” Ancient Lightning has actual aura and doesnt look like something that comes out of the human body :broken_heart: , ontop of having somewhat an interesting basis for a concept
“Fire but it leaves behind clouds” what magic is this supposed to refer to actually is it ash because its certainly different enough from fire.
“Light but its bigger” its an evolved light so i dont have any problem with it.
“shadow but it actually has a good status effect” Tbh it remains cool and has aura, even thought i find it weird how vetex separated it into two magics when it originally was the same.

Aether just looks kinda dumb rn ngl, it’s just bigger and uglier light. Somehow it’s derivative (aether lightning) is a thousand times cooler.

Also I’m not even sure if poison lightning is an actual lost or just a custom that everyone got convinced is a lost.

Heat on its own is fine, the problem is that there’s also flare which is visually extremely similar. Man I hope flare is changed to be closer to its original concept once all of the lists get their changes once they’re obtainable (Vetex said all of the effects are placeholders and I doubt the stats are all finalized).

I see no harm in keeping “boring” mutations with the hecate shard system, as now you’d only really be able to get those if you actually wanted to, whereas they’d moreso just serve as junk in the lost magic pool if they were scrolls you got.
