which is why I suggested this should instead be a Merchant ship and the agora announces “The Gilded Merchants were spotted off the <direction> coast of <nearest island>”

Cool idea, also highkey the scroll thing should be a lot more fleshed out into its own thing, could probably be a replacement for spirit weapons in a way. Like sealing stuff into scrolls and then using it for attacks would be fire.

Not a huge fan of rare events that happen at predictable yet long periods of time. The items are hilariously overpowed for where we are in the story and level cap, and they just seem like galleon sinks that promote toxicity (gilded treasure chart). And I just find “rare event every # [unit of time]”* to be extremely unfun and bad.

I think the items should be relegated to exotic vanities or gimmick items that may or may not be useful. And maybe only in the Nimbus sea or beyond, this stuff doesn’t belong in the current level cap.

But some of these items have cool ideas, like the Bleached Arcanium Gauntlets… and I guess only that item. Everything else seems to exist a short-sighted pet peeve, like water poisoning (it may be justified but I don’t like making ideas based on small problems).

many of these are insanely overpowered or extremely niche with almost nothing in between

theres stuff like the cloak which the only use i see being on open large islands, and then theres stuff where you can have more power than the fucking varatchos helmet without any drawback.

i like the idea of a trader selling unique items, but man some of these are extremely situational

Armored defense necklace gives 341 defense
Matching enchant substat necklace gives 114 of that substat
Powerful Power necklace gives 38 power.

the gauntlets are literally worse than existing items and unlike necklaces, completely forced to specialize into one stat.
The only way it does anything better than necklaces is via gem slots or if it gives 3 warding 162 defense with virtuous.

I feel like this isn’t useful… Like at all.
There really is no reason to know how far you are into a dark sea range other than morbid curiosity.
The gauntlets are too powerful for 3x the stats and the gilded stuff is way too expensive and useless to be even considered except by people who want to show off that they no-life the game

So basically having 2 amulets

tbh I think creating a “greedy amulet” is a neat idea
what it would do is it would convert all other stats into a stat specified by mabey the enchant?
but it would not be 1:1 (I mean … defense gives like 600)
but like 3:1 for agility perhaps. 50:1 for defense
and it would eat all positive stats. so you keep insanity and drawback (but you loose out on warding)

i think you misunderstand the item
If it only gives triple an enchant, then the best you can get out of it is a slightly worse amulet, like Theoretical said.

It only outperforms existing gear if you can also add gems, and it would only be equal to 2 amulets if you could put 4 gems on it.
