Despite being in the game for over a year, these three stats don’t feel completely like they naturally fit into the game, at least to me. The fact I’m a mindless worthless vetex hater aside, I believe there is a good amount of people who will agree, at least in regards of armor piercing.
I’d say part of this comes from the fact that these two stats are the sole ‘basic’ stats that only have one tier of gems and one tier of scrolls.
Enchantment scrolls
Problem
All of these stats’ enchantments, those being piercing, resilient and healing, are marked as “exotic” scrolls. However, unlike all other stats’ exotic scrolls which you can only get from Dark sealed chests, these scrolls can be obtained from normal chests and normal sealed chests.
They are being advertised as tier 2 scrolls when there are no tier 1 scrolls in the first place, yet share the same methods of obtaining as all other tier 1 scrolls.
Change
Current enchantment scrolls are all reduced in rarity by 1 tier, making them rare scrolls. They should also be removed from Dark sealed chests’ loot pool in order not to take up space in the loot pool. Their stats will also be reduced to 1.5 stat per 10 levels so that it’s equal with the other rare enchantments.
In their place, exotic enchantment scrolls will be added that will give the amount of stats that current scrolls give and only be obtainable from dark sealed chests. The names for these enchantments could be Penetrative for AP, Durable for resistance and Rejuvinating for regeneration.
The reason current scrolls shouldn’t remain exotic is because of the fact that a much wider accessibility made a lot bigger supply which would far outnumber the lower tier for a while, even if the scrolls are made to only be obtainable from dark sealed chests. As such, I think it’s better to nerf the current enchants and make new ones with the efficiency of current scrolls.
Gems
Problem
Fire opals, azurites and aventurines are all gems which give AP, resistance and healing respectively and, much like the enchantment scrolls, are exotic gems obtainable through the same methods all rare gems are, such as breaking rocks, opening chests and sealed chests, completing treasure charts etc. Additionally, unlike all other exotic scrolls, they do not give dual stats, nor do they have a special effect like musgravites.
Just like the enchantment scrolls, they’re being advertised as tier 2 gems, yet are functionally exactly the same as tier 1 gems, even more so than their respective scrolls.
Change
As with the enchantment scrolls, the tier of current gems should be brought down by 1 and their stat scaling will be made equal to that of other tier 1 gems, meaning it will give 1, 3, 5, 7, 8 and 10 stats per each tier, instead of the current 2, 5, 7, 10, 13 and 15 stats per each tier.
The situation with tier 2 gems is a lot more complicated in this case, as all tier 2 gems have a special obtainment method and give two stats instead of one. As such, the new gems could be added to loot pool of the existing obtainment methods.
Conclusion
These two changes would make these three stats feel like they properly belong in the game a bit more, instead of feeling like they were glued in as a last minute addition to make the game’s gear building seem a lot deeper than it is. It would put in place the enchantment scrolls and gems acting like both tier 2 and tier 1 bonuses, and allow the players to actually make more diverse builds with new scrolls and gems that would give two different stats, one of which would be one of these three.
