Give me Characters to Defend

So like ash lightning? I mean it sounds like a kinda lame magic, but if the clouds can proc paralysis after staying long enough inside them then I guess its kinda neat. The visuals sound neat too. However, yeah the name seems kinda off. Not sure what about this really has to do specifically with electrons.

Yeah it seems that the Cursebeard war had been merged into the War of the Gods as the crazy ending. It screws over Prometheus at the absolute last second as he was about to win which is both karmic and extremely funny.

Yeah there’s that and the fact this an ancient magic that is named after a word that (and cannot stress this enough) did not exist until 1891.

I mean I could believe people figuring it out sooner through discovering a magic that manipulates them(specifically them cause technically everything manipulates electrons as part of the whole), but the description doesn’t make it look like that’s what’s actually going on with electron magic.

I guess it’s possible that the magic is made up of a bunch of electrons/magic energy copies of electrons, but even then that’s kinda weird, probably would’ve been better off just picking a weird fantastical name for it instead.

Last post on this, because I’m just going to have to make a topic. But, yeah, even if people did discover this through magic, they wouldn’t know to call it an electron because they wouldn’t know that it’s part of an atom.

On the topic of magic energy, since it is an energy techincally all magic should be a form of electron magic, or I guess boson magic? Since all magic is energy that carries force in the shape of matter? I don’t know, the whole magic energy not being the real thing concept is just a big headache for me.

just remove electron and replace it with poison lightning atp bruh :sob::sob::sob:

I think you just gotta suspend your disbelief on this one. The fictional energy is never gonna be all that understandable once you look deeper than what is given.

True, however, if I don’t then I can’t have a character turn a city into sand at one point in my fanfic. Because there needs to be some equivalency between matter, energy, and magic energy, and subsequently a way to transfer between them without curses.

Best advice I can give is to just use what we already know about and then make something up from there while doing your best to not outright contradict anything.

If this means anything I do believe magics aside from the one exception for when they’re created or flying through the air, will do their best to emulate all properties of whatever they’re mimicking. Like for example fire magic gets put out in the water despite the fact that it technically doesn’t actually need oxygen due to being made out of and fueled by magic energy.

Not sure if that actually does anything for you with your dilemma here, but it sounds kinda relevant.
