There hasn’t been any legislation on autism as far as I’m aware, but RFK Jr (Secretary of Health and Human Services) said he wanted us on a registry. He also said ADHD people should be put in farms/camps. He backpedalled on his words but let’s be real he still wants it. They don’t change their minds, they just wait until the zeitgeist shifts enough for it to be okay.
What the fuck? So they’re “pro-life” but then when people have the audacity to be born with that out of their own control they should be put in some fucking Nazi concentration camps?
This isn’t political, this is an attack on actual human rights, what next are they going to do? Restart MKULTRA and put all the non-desirables in the asylums? I want to move to a good state like Colorado but this is actually horrifying.
As someone who also thinks they have ADHD welp guess now is as good a time as any to not be American
Seriously wtf
Obviously its a stupid fucking idea, but his original reasoning behind it was for people addicted to opioids to go farms to quit like a 12-step alcohol recovery program.
And then it extended to his belief that medication is not the solution to ADHD, so then he said people on stimulants, antidepressants, etc should go there and do the same thing.
“Lets send the people who are suffering the most in our society to work camps! That sounds like an ingenius idea!” Fucking idiot
It’s certainly true that we’re in a bit of a rough patch, but things always have the potential to improve! The situation might not be looking great at the moment, but we can weather this storm and do have the potential to come back stronger for it.
We can put the effort in easily, but I hate to be pessimistic but the world leaders just aren’t making it easy
That’s 100% true, but the hope is that we can, at the very least, use current events as a learning opportunity to lower the chances of stuff like this happening in the future. As the next generation, the best we can collectively do in the long term is to stay empathetic and informed, and help others do the same.
I have the world’s worst coping strategy and I’ma be real I need some advice from everyone here on how to change it
It is pretend it isn’t happening and completely suppress your fear
Extremely unhealthy help
im sure @skittlesnakes would love to revert to medieval europe
A lot of things do if you stretch it far enough. A lot has happened in the past 6 months, but Nazi has been thrown around so much that it’s lost it’s original meaning. The day, if it ever even happens, when illegal immigrants get sent to concentration camps, starved, and executed when they didn’t work or simply as an example. Then, I’ll concede to this point.
Remember, Nazi Germany didn’t just blame a group of people (Jews). They rounded them up in mass, didn’t matter their status or background, they were all rounded up, put on trains and shipped off. They were then subsequently taken to camps for labor, starved, gassed, and anyone fleeing was executed. No one, in their right mind, can in good faith say that what is going on is comparable. But you’re right, the US made this mess to begin with through the previous administration, and it’s going to have to be dealt with somehow.
i completely forgot about this, it’s like the term “racist” at this point
Every time I hear the word nazi nowadays I don’t even acknowledge it. It’s ridiculous, but enough generations have passed that people don’t actually understand the holocaust anymore. Do people even remember the Night of Broken Glass?
i feel like eventually if we keep repeating charged words to slander people we’re gonna get to a point where all words are metaphorical and don’t actually mean anything
People are gonna get so desensitized that the day an actual Hitler-level extremist is elected. No one’s gonna care, because the people voted for it. Democracy dies with thunderous applause. It just needs a catalyst formed with years of spite.
My grandma’s mother lost her bakery in it. I don’t forget it.
“People won’t care” and yet there’s nationwide protests, nations accepting americans for asylum, people are still being as kind as they can be in a world in this shape.
Instead of being a pessimist, saying how we will not learn, hope we do. Make effort so we do not let more die at the hands of prejudice or injustice. Be the change you want to be.
I don’t blame him to a certain point if he wants that. It’d help keep track of what’s going on, because autism rates shouldn’t be as high as they are. Because not everyone has functional autism, and those who aren’t, it’s tough on their family.
I’m gonna look into this one.
I hope no one forgets, but realistically it’s forgotten by the current generation. Only thing people talk about is the holocaust, and even then I don’t think nearly as many people care anymore.
The nationwide protests are all obviously organized and the people attending them are never poor. But all that’s doing is causing fatigue. Those nationwide protests block roads, keep people from going to work, and it’s overall disruptive to people’s livelihoods. As for the Americans seeking asylum in other countries, good. If they don’t like it here, then it’s their right to leave.
Kindness is a virtue, but it’s also exploitable. “When people get used to preferential treatment, equal treatment seems like discrimination.” However, false kindness is like a poisoned knife. As a 1st generation, I don’t want incentivization for the partial indentured servitude of the Mexican people here in the US. I want to see the US clean house, and for them to come here legally with the protections that come with it.
as long as im a noble who can exploit local peasantry then yea im down ![]()
