The easiest way to identify your culture is probably checking your hometown on your file, then hover your mouse cursor over the hometown in map, it should state the culture.
you can also try buying a cultural item. if you are the not part of the required culture to buy that item, it will notify you. otherwise, the transaction would go through
I’m a bit surprised that the game doesn’t actually tell you what your culture is directly anywhere. If you forget your hometown then you either have to cross reference your character’s name with an external source or spend money and time on going to each town to buy cultural items to see if you can or can’t use them. Could easily be fixed by just adding a culture statistic to the player card in the player list.
Anyone who’s bought a shield or dagger can check by just opening their inventory and seeing what they’ve got equipped.
If it says “Vistarian Shield”, you’re Vistarian.
The game could do a better job of indicating which areas of the map belong to which culture (so they can find where “home” is), but I don’t think it’s too difficult keep track of what culture they belong to.
