How does Spirit Imbuement actually work?

I’m a shadow paladin and it really confuses me that imbuing Shadow Magic with Divine Spirit Energy increases it’s overall damage despite the fact Shadow Magic has no synergies (except Light) which makes me think if Divine Spirit Energy has certain imbue stats or it is just a straight buff to every stat? Why does Spirit imbued Shadow Magic (on my file) deal like 300 damage with a blast while without it it deals around 250 damage? Does this also work with other spirit classes?

its a buff to counter damage lost from investing into vitality
but in exchange the moves are like drawback

Because vitality inherently lowers your damage, but spirit imbue disables that in exchange for drawback.

I think it might also buff size a bit just since imbued attacks are larger but I don’t have any confirmation for this

according to the wiki it does yeah, i have a paladin and a knight file too and im pretty sure i also have a size buff when imbue spirit

only knight spirit imbue gives the attack size increase, other spirit imbues (juggernaut and paladin) only remove the damage decrease vitality gives

Only way for people to stop complaining about warrior’s size is to make an even bigger weapon class

(Knight might not be bigger for now since it gets lower tiers, but it definitely will when weapons / spirit weapons come around)

Knight weapons with the same kinda size as strength weapons… :fearful:

Bold of you to assume we aren’t gonna be able to strength reforge spirit / weapons weapons
