will the updates after the public release come out as major releases following the long term roadmap or in small, regular patches like they do currently.

Vetex will most likely have a separate game restricted to Testers+ to do that I believe, considering the fact that there was a test universe for AA and AS.

You are correct, there will be a game that is only for testers. You will be able to track stuff just as you can on trello now.
