Ideas to Make Magics More Unique

Playing with some of the new magics I noticed that crystal felt almost identical to wood and sand’s piles didn’t do anything but sit there and look pretty. I’m mostly making this post to kind of spitball ideas that could make magics have more of their own identity and I’d love to see other concepts in the comments. I’m intentionally not giving too many details so that the ideas can be interpreted differently for the sake of balancing

Sand - Sand piles hit by a warm magic (Fire/Plasma/Magma/Maybe Lightning) turn shiny and will shatter when an enemy walks over them, applying the bleed status. Sand piles hit by a wet magic (Acid/Ink/Water) will turn a darker color and slow down any enemies that walk over them.

Crystal - Dealing 10% of someone’s health with a crystal magic attack makes a crystal stick out of the enemy’s body. When the enemy has enough crystals stuck in them, they will be applied the crystallized status and will be encapsulated inside a crystal similar to the frozen effect.

Many of these would just make the game too complicated but hey you did ask for ideas.

Water

Turn water :water_magic_var1: puddles into cold water :water_magic_var1: puddles when hit by a cold magic (:ice_magic_var1::snow_magic:). It would apply the freezing effect when touching them (the effect when hit by ice :ice_magic_var1:, which then turns into the frozen ice cube effect when hit by wind).
This would affect how lightning :lightning_magic_var1: electrocute those puddles, making it weaker so that it dosen’t become too overpowered.
Somewhat useless detail : A warm magic (:fire_magic::plasma_magic_var1::magma_magic:) could bring it back to normal while shrinking it like usual

Wood

Wood :wood_magic_var1: spells would break into pieces on contact with the ground (or only with explosion spells), which can be put on fire when hit with a warm magic (:fire_magic::plasma_magic_var1::magma_magic:) to make a puddle-like AoE which deals damage over time. This could also be added to paper.:paper_magic_var1:

Light and Crystal

Unsure if it’s here already but i doubt it is
When light :light_magic_var1: clashes with crystal :crystal_magic_var1:, it would divide into multiple weaker smaller blasts of light :light_magic_var1: each going in a random direction. This could be able to damage everyone but the light user, or everyone in general. This could also be added to glass :glass_magic:

Wind

Wind :wind_magic_var1: would slow down light :light_magic_var1: magics like paper :paper_magic_var1: and poison :poison_magic_var1: after a clash (of course only if the opposite spell survived the clash)
I assume this might cause balancing issues

Poison

Make the poisonned effect from poison :poison_magic_var1: spells slightly more powerful (increase DoT or duration) when hit by a cold magic (:ice_magic_var1::snow_magic:) either before or after the poisonned effect, as you are generally more vulnerable to diseases and stuff at a cold temperature.

Sand and Wind

Sand :sand_magic_var1: piles exploding into sand particles when hit by wind :wind_magic_var1: which applies the sandy effect . The cloud of sand could stay there a little while or disapear immediately with a fairly large AoE. This cloud can also appear in a sand :sand_magic_var1: vs. wind :wind_magic_var1: clash. This could also be added to snow :snow_magic:.

Glass

Glass :glass_magic: spells would leave shards on the ground upon impact with it which would cause somewhat weak bleeding or damage on contact. This could also be added to crystal :crystal_magic_var1:

Snow

Unsure if it’s here already
Make snow :snow_magic: piles turn into water :water_magic_var1: puddles on contact with a warm magic (:fire_magic: :plasma_magic_var1: :magma_magic:).

^stuff above sounding pretty pog, especially the ones involving sand and wind :eyes:

there’s probably a reason he hasn’t already implemented this but why not have more varied stats, stuff like magic size, casting speed and magic energy cost could differ more between the magics. (i suppose it could make it harder to balance the magics)
