Main Problem: Stalking people across servers is not acceptable behavior (even against leaderboard players). However, I have noticed a trend towards it recently, especially from high-ranking leaderboard players. This suggestion specifically refers to the malicious usage of the teleport feature.
Main Solution: Disable the ability to teleport to specific players if they have you blocked on roblox.
Upside: Efficient
Downside(?): Requires people to use roblox interaction stuff (blocking people you don’t like is generally good practice anyway)
This addition can come with a loading tip: “Players you have blocked cannot teleport to you”
Minor downside: Alternate accounts can counteract this.
Alternative Solution: Disable the ability to teleport to specific players if you are not friends with them on roblox.
Also efficient, but more inconvenient
Majority of people join servers from people they aren’t friends with for a variety of reasons, harassment is a relatively minor reason.
If the first option is somehow incomprehensibly inconvenient to implement, and if this solution isn’t, then I can see this being an acceptable option. Kind of a nuclear option, but it works.
With these solutions, one could also remove the (I’m not sure if this even exists) inability for people you have blocked to join you via the continue button (I.E. randomly). If this isn’t a thing, then nothing needs to be done about that. Sometimes things get a little inconvenient just to spice things up.
Secondary problem (not really a huge problem): Blocking people means that private messages they send you come up blank. They should, ideally, not come up at all.
Solution: Make messages not show up if you have someone blocked
If you try to message a player that has you blocked, the game acts like that player has messages turned off. A notification appears when you try to send a message informing you that this person has you blocked.
Tbh it could certainly possible that a code could block all users who blocked you from joining. However, another code that restricts something like that from leaderboard players so that leaderboard board players can still join or whatever and would be a disabled feature
After all I do agree this suggestion should be added for the Main and Secondary, just that a code like that has too be invented
It seems relatively straightforward, but I’m not a game dev or programmer by any means. I should clarify that this suggestion only refers to directly joining someone via. the teleport feature in the menu.
With that in mind, I hope it’s not particularly difficult to look into people’s blocked users list
Yeah, I was referring to how a code would have to be made that could seperate the block usages between normal and leaderboard players cuz of the comment above
Hoping something like this does get added though (even though I’m hunting players as well).
fair enough, but at that point the only people this change would affect would be people who deliberately reset their fame/bounty to hide an absurdly high player kill count (and even then, I don’t think those people have any specific targets in mind.
Then again, I wouldn’t mind changes and features that actively alienate people who seek to hunt other players for sport. That doesn’t seem like a good type of person to allow in a game.
I’ve seen several, and I’m not dumb enough to stick around servers with people like that.
Generally, it’s not a problem that happened at any set date. They’ve always been there, they give games bad reputations, there’s no reason not to actively drive them away from games.
I mean through this suggestion couldn’t you just block them
After all it is not targetting LB players but not people with no bounty and have player kills
Well, yeah, that’s the idea. Unless you’re referring to situations that aren’t just “oh god he’s been following me through servers for 15 minutes”.
and if that is what you’re saying, while I wouldn’t be particularly opposed to that personally, this entire thing could be circumvented by making to blocked individuals can just coincidentally join servers with the player who blocked them in it.
That way, you can still happen to find someone, but you can’t stalk them
I should put that in the suggestion, now that I think about it
