Reading the topic about paid magic reset gave me brain rot and made my eyes bleed, and I’m not even close to the end of the topic

I just want to voice my opinion about it now.

I would rather have no way of changing magic if Vetex didn’t want us to change magics in the first place. The reason for this is that the so called compromise we got has turned into a shitshow.

Magic builds are singled out when it comes to changing the stuff you attack with.
Warriors can change their weapon in a matter of seconds and for a new weapon they have to grind either chests or bosses. Oracles most likely have to beat up bosses to get another spirit weapon, and, I suppose, spirit weapons permanently stay with you therefore you can change them anytime (unless you decide to sell it or something). Berserkers do a quest, pay some in-game currency and get another fighting style. Yes, they need to get mastery of FS to max tier, but it takes a reasonable amount of time.

Mages, however…
It takes going to hell for an undefined amount of real-life time just to get an essence, which is located in i3+ layers of Darks Sea in which we aren’t even supposed to go yet. 7+ hours in unreasonable for changing magics when all other classes can get new weapons in around 2 hours (I made up this specific statistic to highlight the difference in how much time changing stuff for all the classes takes).

Keep everything said above in mind.

This is not a compromise. I feel like Hecate itself from the start was created out of spite for players who kept asking for a way to change magic. This is why process of getting Hecate is so miserable - because Vertex didn’t want to add magic change in any shape or form, but people kept asking him.

And now we have a product that does the same thing as Hecate, but you don’t need to go to the heart of hell to get it.
And it’s for 20 bucks.

Process of getting Hecate is miserable, and this product lets you fully skip the miserable part for some real money. It does seem predatory if you don’t know that Vertex wants to discourage you from buying it. But if he doesn’t want you to buy it… Why does it even exist?
This is even worse then Hecate itself. Mages got even more singled out in how they can change their tools for attacks. No other class has to pay real money to get a new weapon or replace a fighting style.

This is why I really don’t like this thing. Instead of listening to community lead dev decided to create an expensive product that lets you skip the 7+ hours of seeking for a feature in-game and he doesn’t even want you to buy it. This is not good at all. And then he insults his community for being dissatisfied, but it’s a whole another topic I don’t want to dwell into.

Good idea. Very good idea. Said it before on a previous thread but Vetex needs to stop being a bag avoider and add some meaningful microtransactions to this game. Basically every product or gamepass in this game is a charity donation that doesn’t affect shit. I get that he doesn’t want to make a “p2w” game but if you want to do that on a platform like roblox you should make your game paid access like deepwoken. This game is his full time job and I know it barely makes anything from products. Roblox doesn’t push games that don’t make them money.

I just need him to reduce the price to something reasonable so more people actually buy it, instead of setting it to an obviously exorbitant price like 2000. Maybe 500 or something.

Stat resets should also be able to be paid for. That’s the next step for some good monetization.

Do not go fishing.
Your bait repels what it is meant to attract, your hook is soft and cannot latch onto anything, your line is made of thread that will snap under the most minor stress, yet your rod is so heavy that you can barely lift it, and you have no way to reel the fish in other than to pull it.
As a fisherman, you are an utmost disappointment. Never throw your bait in this lake ever again.

Good idea because:

  • Skip time

Bad idea because:

  • Forces mages to either drown in over 9+ hours in the worst place, doing a boring task or pay a ton
  • Might be the start of a down path (Opinion of mine, don’t take too seriously)
  • Gives an excuse to not make Hecate easier to find for f2p players

Also for everyone’s knowledge.
Vetex intends for us to be miserable.

feel like this would be received better if it only became accessible after finding a hecate essence for the first time (I did not waste all that time getting one just for some level 103 richie rich to drop 20 bucks for it)

Add neutral option

oh my christ just how many topics are there about this

The people who work on the game need money we have so much content to play with and it’s all free we’ve pretty much been mooching off of their hard work and they’ve been fine with that and haven’t told it’s to give them our parents credit cards even though they have to feed themselves with it plus it’s not like you cant play the game unless you buy this we are presented with every magic option when we start and can choose the one we like the best and we get 3 free profiles slots to test at least 3 different magics

i don’t really care. the option is there for the whales who would actually bother spending that much for a magic change, but realistically it doesnt really change anything for most players, especially when the starter pack thing to skip the story exists for a quarter of the price.

maybe if it didn’t cost $20

Uh guys this is actually good game designed because he designed it to be a shit feature and it is shit

I’ve changed my thought.

It is good but not like REALLY GOOD, like if you want to talk about a really good idea, that would the hecate essence itself.

I do still think it is kind of weird that vetex doesn’t want people buying it, but well i can’t really read his mind so i don’t know.

Overall, i think it would be a decent idea, it may sound p2w for some but it kind of isn’t since the Hecate isn’t insanely rare, it is very rare but not insanely.

Blox Fruits has better examples of this, some fruits are insanely rare and actually OP, and you can just buy it for a similar price than this magic change, or you can buy a permanent version which makes it even more P2W (contrary to this magic change which is just like the name change, a one time use)

i dont care gang
and i dont see any point in caring

it’s like waping said, only the whales are going to be buying it and they are making improvements to hecate hunting, so it makes no difference for 99% of the players and gives vetex some extra bank to work with

Okay, so—you’re right in that most of us aren’t actually going to be changing our magics. The actual problem lies in the philosophy behind the microtransaction. It shows that Vetex is willing to wall QOL features behind either a paywall or an obnoxious random encounter after many hours of searching.

Elysium existing for several months now:

The thing is neither of them are wanted.

Hecate wouldn’t have been added if it wasn’t for the community

The price is to discourage buying it (i have no idea how that works but alright)

Worst case scenario, vetex doesn’t care anymore and becomes poop fruits (unlikely)

it benefits people who have been searching for hecate like crazy and are up to wasting 2000 robux on it
