Island interactions: Export

Exploring the world of Arcane Odyssey is truly exciting especially when you’re doing it for the first time - it feels pretty much alive, and in full release it will be even more. But there are still some things that could be in game and would make more interactions - thus, more fun.

Export:

Export will be a special function and/or interaction between islands which would allow players for more things to do.

There will be 2 types of export - Neutral and Clan.

Neutral export is just a PvE function. Singular or several ships start off a certain location - For example, Ravenna, and then together, move in a certain path to go to a certain destination, for example - Frostmill Island. Those ships carry troops like Ravenna Soldiers on it’s deck and several cargo crates with other things that could possibly be added. Raiding such ships will greatly increase your notoriety and bounty, but allow you to scavenge the treasures the ships carried on the deck.

The treasure could be almost anything - From money, armory, weapons, food, ship materials and other stuff up to enchantment scrolls and potions. Once you get the loot - you can sell it, or perhaps open it on your ship or your shipwright to get the stuff.

Clan export is rather a PvP function that can be used in variety of ways. To do this, there will be an Elite merchant stand that can be interacted with to change some aspects of your controlled island and is the main merchant stand which controlls all other ones. One of the functions - is the clan export.

Once you press the clan export - you can choose what materials do the ships carry on the decks, what kind of ships those are, and how much of them in a fleet. This, of course, costs a plenty of galleons.

After that - you choose the destination. The destination could be any other island currently captured by the same OR ANOTHER clan. Note that this function can be used across all servers, meaning one captured island can send an export to another captured island in another island. This, however, only works with your own clan, as you cannot export stuff to other clans in other servers.

Once done, your merchant fleet of ships will start their way. If there are over 7 ships in the fleet, this will be noted in the Agora - as if “A major merchant esquadril of ships moved out from [island] controlled by [clan]”

If they end up getting raided by anything - all clan members in the server get messaged by this, and also will be notified with their location on the map. If the fleet ends up getting annihilated - the clan loses some galleons and the loot the fleet was transferring.

If the fleet manages to reach the destination - they will start exporting the items to the Elite Merchant Stand in the island, or, if there isn’t any - to the storage of the island.

Storage is built automatically once the island is captured, and other clan members can take the stuff from it.

Note that this suggestion i made is just a small part of my next planned major clan-related suggestion, it’s just that i don’t have much time to post it all, so here’s this i guess.

This seems like a really cool way to liven up the world a bit.
I also see an opportunity to add rarer encounters with unique drops.

I wouldnt expect to see clans export items but the regular aspect will definitely liven up the world a bit. I could see this being added in full release or a near future update.

I love this. The idea of more “active” income through actual sea-trade sounds a lot more enjoyable than just sitting on your ass waiting for your crops to grow so you can sell them or collect their reagents.

Not really sure how it would be different from normal ship combat besides extra loot?

Personally, i would love a mini Starsector economy-style system

the duality of man

NPC trading fleets & new merchant stalls? Don’t mind if I do! This’ll definitely help liven up the world a bit.

trinity rahhh

Suggestion written so clearly that everyone has the exact same thing to say about what it’d do.

a sign of perfection

Yeah this’ll definitely make the world a bit more lively

frick i don’t have much time to finish the major suggestion i mentioned :sob:

i guess it’ll be delayed
