So, this is a big idea but stay with me. Back in AA, joining the AG was incredibly simple. Talk to the recruiter, have a good reputation, and you’re in! However, something struck me that back in AA, the AG was so divided into groups. You had the absolute trash cans that can’t fight, and the gods that get on your nerves.
I’m proposing the idea of recruitment to be difficult, to which once you meet the requirements to attempt to join (good rep and level), you first go through a simple multiple-choice quiz with about 5 questions. You need to get 100% to pass that part, however, due to the fact that eventually someones gonna upload to the answers to YouTube or something, we have the last combat part once you pass the quiz.
You’ll be teleported to an island where you have to defeat three level 30 MC scouts on a tiny island. Their magic will be completely random and you must defeat them all to pass. Your health won’t matter, as you just need to be alive by the time they are all knocked out. Another tiny change would be to change the ‘death’ message to “[name] has knocked out [MC name]”.
After that, once you pass you’ll be made a scout or however Vetex and the developers want to do it. I had a wild idea that you can choose to either be a scout or a guard.
My next idea would be being fined if you leave your post. In the quests from MC, a lot of them say that they cannot leave their post or they’ll get in trouble. I had an idea of enforcing posts on MC. If you leave your post the first time, you’ll receive mail to return back to your post and that it’s you only warning. If you refuse to go back after 5 minutes, you’ll receive a fine and that’s it. If you leave your post a few more times, you’ll get larger fines until eventually you’ll be demoted. Once demoted, if you leave your post again you’ll simply be kicked out of the MC for ‘misconduct’ or whatever you want it to be.
Go ahead and give any ideas and changes, and I know some of this might be stupid but personally I think it’s pretty cool.
@manakarnmatt I definitely see where you’re coming from, but I believe there should be obvious benefits to staying at your posts. You should be PAID for being apart of the MC, with higher pays as you get promoted.
I may just scratch the post duty idea, and change it by saying that you get HIGHER PAY if you remain at your post. Such as a bonus in your mail for doing “post duty”, making post duty completely optional. As well as if we do MCR (WoM AGR), maybe you can get one MCR for each hour (irl) of post duty. So you get both money and MCR. This will also stop AFK farmers as you can go idle, and you need to move around to not go idle.
If you want to keep the idea of “If I leave my post I’ll get in trouble” then you could make a system where people can chose times they want to stand guard, and then your fine system will apply if they leave during that time. So kind of like a quest system.
In the end though, I don’t know how you’d make standing guard very incentivizing. It just sounds like it’d be really boring unless something scripted happens like an attack.
I mean I think that an actual like trial type thing to join the magic counsel would be cool. But instead of starting out as a scout it could be based on how good you do on the quiz/combat trial. So if you do poorly you start as a guard and are assigned on posts and have to stay there, but if you do really well you could become a scout, soldier, ect. So the scouts and soldiers wouldn’t be forced to stay at their posts and instead would have other tasks. And depending on where you start you can work your way up out of that position and into a higher position.
Great idea, your idea is cool but personally my comment probably is better imo. We can make post duty completely optional, but if you decide to do it you’ll be paid for how long you do post duty. As well as if we do MCR (AGR but MC), you can get one MCR per hour you do post duty. (one hour irl)
(By paid, i mean a tiny bonus in your mail. I believe that working in the MC should get you paid every day, with bonuses from arresting criminals.)
I mean then with the post duty thing maybe give it a set % chance every few mins for something to happen so you aren’t just sitting there doing nothing for hours upon hours. Because that would get extremely boring and be a really easy money/magic counsel rep farm.
A better idea i just got. Instead of staying in one place you will be in patrol going from town to town stay at each one for about 2 minutes. Just like how you see some Mc in towns.
