Lore drop thread(Sorta spoilers)

Yes, however

None of this is explained or mentioned. Ever. This makes sense to be there, so it’s somewhat filled in by our brains, but that doesn’t make it actually there. Also,

Check back on this in a few years, we’ll see. I have a very strong feeling he’s gonna be relevant

Why are motivations of a character that isn’t a component of the story considered mandatory to you?
He was the big bad mastermind of Arcane Adventures, he has done absolutely nothing in AO. He’s not relevant anymore, and if you expect him to become relevant, then I don’t blame you, but I don’t think you should complain about his lack of characterization in a story where he is not a character.
He may or may not be the Wing Gaster of Arcane games, but I have little reason to think he’s anything more than a footnote in the Seekers of Sight story.

Any character that gets pretty much a full paragraph of the lore doc (even squished in at the end) is important enough to me that they need at least a very basic motive. It could literally be tacked onto the end of once sentence with something like “…as revenge for humanity killing his family” and I would be satisfied

Oh he is definitely going to become relevant, sooner or later, because atp the seekers of sight or order of aesir definitely have a plan relating to his soul after pk kills him or whatever.

That dimwit with a bident and a bushy beard being in the lore doc is because he’s part of AA’s story, which leads directly into AO’s story. What happens in the lore doc doesn’t matter for AO directly, and if there’s ever a part of the game where that story is explained, then even then we don’t need an explained motivation for Hades, because in-universe characters might not know.

I used basic problem-solving skills to figure out why he kills people, instead of just assuming Vetex pulled a disney and made him into Lucifer

I can see Hades being related to the Seekers of Sight, especially since they’ve resided above catacombs with statues of him and probably a portal to his realm, but I feel like his motives directly conflict with the Order of Aesir.

The Seekers want to make out with Chaos, and Chaos is abundant in the area that the Hades statues show up in, leading to a direct correlation.

The Order’s only known motivation is furthering the power of their magic, meanwhile Hades opposes magic, and sure he does have his own custom Cursed Earth Magic, but they could way more easily go after a dragon or a hecate shard if they want custom magics rather than going to the #1 magic hater.

Does anyone else actually think about Hades as a character rather than a plot device waiting to be awakened to make the Order of Aesir look like puppies in comparison to him so it feels really good when you defeat him at level 590?

Yes. That’s why I wish Vetex actually went into the slightest tiny bit of depth with him.

And you could make this argument with any other writer, but I wouldn’t assume anything this generous about Vetex. The man is not known for his logical writing.

I gotta give the man credit where it’s due, as much as I wish he made it more apparent that he deserves it.

A lot of people probably figured this out before me, but I wanted to say it just cause I wanted to talk about it. Allanon is like 30. If you read Esmerelda’s quatermaster description she is 24 and if you remember her dialogue she says that she was very young when her mother died and couldn’t remember her very well, but Allanon did. I might be jumping to the biggest extreme with 30 but for Esmerelda to not remember but Allanon does he’s gotta be like a decent couple years older than her no? Anyways point is he’s an unc with a 17 year old as his best friend and he gets bullied by his much younger little brother. What a loser amirite?

I like the lore and tbf the story had alot of potential, but vetex just didn’t pay Attention to the Characters existence. it feels like they’re only there to fight the narrative. not having much depth and its useless.

my choices is like, keep the concept and lore the same but changed few that are confusing.
even though it will change part of the story but as long it work

Tbf, its not really that weird if an adult get along with children. Allanon were prob like 19 y.o when callahan was 10. but their relationship to me is like, nothing’s weird.

it just their ship…

I may write about the aftermath of Olympus war in my reimagination of the lore, but in my version, he ends up absolutely furious at Prometheus due to everything he did.
While Arthur’s army approaches the citadel of Olympus, Prometheus regrets everything and sacrifices the last of his sanity and some of essence of Hecate who had been killed during the war to create the Absorption curse.
He then gives it to Hades and tells him the curse will have the ability to absorb magic from mortals and even destroy mortal curses. Hades takes it with him into the Underworld, and remains in hiding, and alone in his grief, guilt, anger and sorrow, until he re-emerges centuries later and comes across Durza.

Beyond being a real rabbi who wasn’t the son of God, bro just got retconned?

Interestingly enough Abrahamic religion predates much of what would’ve been contemporary Greek tradition. So I wonder if that was deleted as well lol.

It’d be cool to get a game or a bit of lore which explores the alternate history that Prometheus giving humans magic would’ve caused. I’d love to see the wars of the Diadochi but AO pre fracture.

Bro is playing Mystical Pilgrimage
