Lore drop thread(Sorta spoilers)

rewrite arcane adventures******

the original concept should stay the same, it just needs more depth

Sure some of it. Some are silly like magic only interacting with magic or magic not enhancing you physically making things like canon fist impossible

Or maintaining the spell till it charges up is hard/demanding so it’s not optimal to use

aftershock is possible by just imbuing trace magic energy onto your hands so i think cannon fist is completely possible in the ao verse even with that rule

Isn’t the AoE of after shock just aura/magic energy

The core concept of lifting a cannonball and having big strength to chuck it like a cannon is quite impossible in AO. Humans body’s our equal to ours in AO. Magic doesn’t change this, spirit may but spirit is such an unknown variable. Meaning cannon fist is a plot hole and another broken example of AO universe

yes that’s literally using traces of magic energy to strengthen yourself

yeah, like how i can t jump in real life (no i fucking cant and that’s only possible in ao because the characters imbue trace amounts of magic energy on their feet to reach higher heights.. you can literally see it whenever you t jump a little effect in your previous position)

Yeah this is just propelling with magic energy. Though t jumping is debatable in canon as combat on canon is very grounded so even if t jump is canon its not nearly as common or accessible in lore

yeah that’s with vetex dude, i’m just pointing out what the game implies and what vetex has said in the discord

Time for another random lore question, because I don’t feel like making a full topic.

Anyway, do you guys think the atmosphere’s thinner on top of the Sky-Islands, or do you guys think that the magic clouds somehow produce their own atmosphere? IDK, I just need to know whether the sea-folk would have a tougher time breathing while up so high.

So is literally everything else our character is capable of.

Magic doesn’t exist, we can’t harness our life energy through mystical artifacts, we can’t swing swords so hard that it creates a flying slash, and we can’t punch the air so hard that it causes giant shockwaves, much less leap towards someone and punch them while staying airborne.

Why are you worrying about logic in fantasy?

I think it’d be a mix honestly.

The atmosphere gets thinner, yes, but not as much as it would at the same height where there isn’t sky islands.

Crack theory:
Due to Fracture, there are more kelp in the oceans, meaning there’s more oxygen, so sky islands still have less oxygen than we currently do at sea level, but not by a lot.

hey since lore thread users probably know way more, whats up with the relic spirit energy system? i cant remember what i read but i remember stuff along the lines of body augmentation and summoning natural occurrences like lightning

in lore, spirit energy comes from the gods and its directly tied to the primordial force of creation, so does that have any part in this?

just asking for a dumbed down/simplified explanation about spirits main impact

We litteraly have no idea since relics are recent concept.
My head cannon is as following:

Magic is able to create temporary false matter, acting like a sort of anit-matter in real world. Spirit on the other hand, is mostly about re-arranging what already there. Due to that, magic is more easier to learn and master than spirit.

We don’t do anything by just attacking. We do literally all of that by harnessing aura or magic energy and releasing as it we do those motions. This is well known and common knowledge and vetex has even said excluding things like grabs weapon attacks and such aren’t even canon pre awakening/the time you learn to use aura.

its literally this, as long as it is “natural” then it can be controlled so for all we know there is probably a relic out there that causes the trees to become alive and start killing people

honestly having hightier relics require catalysts is an awesome idea, an artemis blessed quiver that forms spirit arrows after consuming food in your inventory (the relic consumes it), or a dionysus blessed chalice that consumes seawater for its energy

also i got a really dumb question but this is for a magic-relic idea i had, what magic syn/affinities would be related to hades? im unsure because it could be revealed to be obvious (death) or abstract (a new magic), and another question i had was what colors are related to hades?

im planning on taking a charon trip later today to look through the colors shown and hades insignia (bident) to get a rough guestimate, but as of right now i view it as a abyssal blurple with streaks of gold

Hades’s affinity is also earth

So FMA alchemy?
