Lore drop thread(Sorta spoilers)

it doesnt seem like they are capable of dying of old age so i assume if they somehow survive for long enough they will become dragonlords themselves

Actually no, Tech was the one who wrote Neviro’s diary and Tech was the one who confirmed Neviro’s father to be Farzen’s nephew, it was also solely Tech who pointed out that Neviro has Curse Inheritance which was also pointed in his Diary, I’m pretty sure it was also Tech who wrote Farzen’s Journal, which had no problem with itself. Then Vetex appeared and added that rule to Curse Inheritance only going down to two generations, which completely destroyed any sense of continuity regarding Neviro’s family and what Tech was trying to build, and when asked, Vetex outright stated Neviro wasn’t supposed to have Curse Inheritance, and Tech wasn’t able to properly answer it. So it leads to only one conclusion:

Tech is a Neviro glazer who was trying to throw in some breadcrumbs for Neviro, and Vetex detected this crime and destroyed any chance of it ever coming into fruition, rightfully!

So basically, if I was a dragon and I
A Japanese soldier continued fighting World War II until 1974 because he believed Japan's surrender was enemy propaganda : r/interestingasfuck
I would be able to become strong just by existing… pretty neat.

Honestly idk how I feel about this because on one hand it is another example of how Acheron breaking the natural order was not a good idea in the slightest because now there is nothing to keep the dragon population in check but on the other hand that is a tad bit too broken. They could wipe out most of the War Seas if they were ever teleported there if not all of it.

I’m pretty sure Acheron’s blast did the exact opposite, most of the Dragons that are leftover are now in complete disarray, and even ancient Dragons and Dragonlords are going insane in the Dark Sea. While the Dragon Cluster is acting as a breeding ground for them now, it also only limits them to one single Sea Cluster, as I doubt any Dragon would ever want to go back to the Dark Sea.

Also in 30 years, you as a Dragon would just be entering your time of shedding your baby-teeth.

(especially since the dark sea apparently destroys their wings as well )

Considering the fact that 500 years is baseline for an Ancient Dragon, and they are supposed to less than Mythical Dragons, who are still not a Dragonlord themselves… and the closest estimate we have of them is that they existed even before humanity was given Magic, plus they were already old enough to be worshipped as Gods, this could mean they’re around 2000 years old.

Meaning for this plan to come into fruition, it’d take longer than it took the setting of WoM to come into being in the pre-retconed lore.

ye ik its just to fit the meme.

I mean in the least it’s been some 800 years since the fracture, and it says the dragon sea cluster was settled a few hundred years after that, so probably a ton of the aforementioned ancients, hell maybe enough to even take out the war seas

i see this makes a lot more sense than tech just being outright wrong

arent dragons immortal??

pretty sure

Didn’t see these until today but Tech answered a lore questions in vetcord a couple days ago. Forum images seem to still be broken so I just transcribed the questions, if you want to see the actual messages themselves you can just search them up since they’re in the general chat and not patreon chat

Torren expy stuff

Summary

Person
Can we get some droplets on the “Kingslayer”. Ik its not torren but Ive been curious for like 3 years now

Tech replying to above
The Mistwalker?

Person replying to above
believe thats the same one yea

Tech replying to above
“7”

Person replying to above
Unknown 7!?! /j

Tech replying to above
Well I guess he’s closer to “3” now anyways
Not that unknowns exist anymore

Fate of the world stuff

Summary

Person replying to Tech mentioning Unknowns
Is the order of aesir a descendant of the concept of the unknowns lol

Tech replying to above
Nono the unknowns were beings beyond natural power or comprehension the order is an organization wanting to harness the true power of magic to save the world so to speak

Person replying to above
to save the world :eyes::eyes:

Tech replying to above
Look around the war seas, doesn’t it seem apocalyptic?

Person replying to above
True, wrath of the gods and all that whatever it was called

Tech replying to above
The clusters are shrinking
Humanity as a species in AO is very desperate

Elysium stuff

Summary

Person
is theos alive still

Tech replying to above
He rests in Elysium among heroes of his stature

Person replying to above
Speaking of ely is there gonna be more place to explore beyond the arena? Like the sky islands surrounding it

Tech replying to above
We have the concept for Elysium Boss Raids eventually of fallen heroes or Redemption Bouts of evil souls given the chance at Elysium through combat (us)

Person replying to above
Hold on fighting Developers??

Tech replying to above
More like fighting Hercules
Or Gawain
Or even Theos

More Apophis powerscaling stuff

Summary

Person
is vetex’s statement about Apophis beating Peacekeeper true?

Tech replying to above
I’d need to see

Person replying to above
He said “Apophis would beat Peacekeeper since Peacekeeper is just a human”

Tech replying to above
Likely so, I doubt PK would trump them until after the absorption curse

Person replying to above
damn
So how would Acheron do

Tech replying to above
He’s beyond humanity

Various curse stuff

Summary

Person
At the player’s current level, could they beat a pure curse user?
1 on 1, anything goes

Tech replying to above
We’d lose still

Person replying to above
How were we able to beat Ormolu?

Tech replying to above
The crystal curse is powerful but requires finesse, he’s no longer him to control it it controls him

Person replying to above
so curses have their own mind/will?

Tech replying to above
Drugs don’t have a will they just corrupt yours

Person replying to Tech saying that we’d still lose 4 messages up
The glass one doesn’t seem too strong tho

Tech replying to above
No? Was his control poor back then? I agree. He could make tiny shards of fiberglass to make a storm or making glass so thick it could block explosions and bullets. He could create mirrors and weapons and entire battlefields of his power
He won’t make the same mistake twice anyways

Zeus and his authority related stuff

Summary

Person
unrelated but what is the strongest theoretical magic ever to exist

Tech replying to above
Theoretically it’d be a combination of Zeus’s authority of lightning which is spirit energy, Kronos’s manipulation of time, and possibly apocalypse bringer due to its connections
Not even a magic

Tech
Also people misunderstand Zeus
Both in mythology and in AO. He’s definitely a bad person don’t misunderstand me. But his authority isn’t just “lightning” it’s the sky. His authority is space as he took over Ouranos’s dominion
bros a space user
He controls all things held in the sky

Person replying to above
tbf ancient greeks conceived of ‘space’ very differently from us, they first believed it was made of 4 elements like everything else, then later some believed it was a spherical celestial realm around the earth filled with a light, invisible quintessential substance that also naturally orbital in circles. it might be closer to the christian view of heaven (they also used to believe that heaven was in space, after all) than our modern understanding of outer space
and it is well known that zeus was king of the greek gods, and therefore the ruler of their realm

Tech replying to above
CORRECT HOLY
A lot of people don’t read that into it so it’s cool seeing people who have

Scorch curse related stuff

Summary

Person
By the way, do you happen to know whereabouts about the remaining Grand Fire Curse? The Scorch Curse I mean
Since Inferno is being wielded by Warren, Aethereal Flames is wielded by Morrock (Promethean Fire and Darkflame… nevermind about these two actually)

Tech replying to above
It’s owned

Person replying to above
Also how destructive is Scorch Curse? Especially when comparing to Apocalypse Bringer Curse (formerly wielded by Nero Caesar) and Shatter Curse (wielded by Thandor)

Quick shatter magic question

Summary

Person
since you’re taking lore questions, how does shatter magic work(if its still canon). I love the idea of that magic but I wonder how it acts when used against things like wind or fire or water.

Tech replying to above
You use magic to shatter the space in front of you it’s highly complex and all magic is an imitation so it wouldn’t genuinely cause any rifts

So we will not only be limited to hero’s for Elysium bosses
Acheron boss maybe

Normal people in the fields of asphodel watching the evil douchebag responsible for more deaths than anyone else in history get a shot at redemption into Greek heaven through a fight with the gods’ golden boy while they’re just eternally stuck there

I know that’s probably just a tentative justification for being able to fight dead villains but imagine granting Hitler passage through the pearly gates cause he beat you in a fight :sob:

Have it be like having to guard the entrance of Tartarus from said evil souls trying to escape or something

Theos looking over and seeing Durza in the afterlife for cool people

How theos would be moving on silas if he failed to prevent durza from being allowed into elysium

regulus? makes sense considering his father is an oathkeeper, seems like a fitting magic for someone who will likely reunite with that group later on

so i wonder if vetex meant current PK rather than future/prime?

wait this makes a lot of sense actually, i was wondering why exactly they were after legacies if they just wanted to further magic (i assume it was to understand magic more like with the spirit energy combination ones), but instead they’re trying to experiment with god-descendants to see if they can stop the sea clusters from shrinking

this is way better than just “evil organization that is only there for evil and power”

hell fucking yes, the “boss dungeons” can be tartarus escapees who were able to get past the other guards that id presume would be down there (can explain why they’re all strong bosses rather than just a normal npc)

maybe keep a few in elysium like theos (all the hero aligned ones) and the fights are just friendly bouts or for training of some sort

fuck
I guess it was to be expected but still disappointing

something something “7-3”

dos uno

also him saying kronos instead of khronos (or literally any other alternative spelling of the actual god and personification of time) IM DEADDDD…
