I know someone already brought up mage weapons, but I wanted to build on that with a more PvP-focused idea.
Concept:
Mages could use arcanium wands, staffs, and tomes to cast spells, pretty standard, but the key difference here is that these weapons would let you equip and use multiple spells from different magics at once. For example, your wand could cast a fire beam followed by an ash explosion without switching magic types.
This would massively improve versatility for mages in PvP, letting players hit synergies more easily and respond faster without having to switching magics mid-fight. These items wouldn’t boost damage or stats the spells would behave exactly as if cast normally, keeping all their original customizations. Basically, it’s more of a functional/visual change than a stat change. (And no, they wouldn’t be enchantable.)
I’m keeping it simple and focusing just on the core idea, since I think Vetex prefers suggestion inspiration over fully detailed blueprints.
I really don’t at all see how this would spawn a toxic meta, literally all you have are spells on the same weapon, warlocks would also get a version of this through their arcanium martial weapons (gloves, gauntlets, belts, boots) in which they just apply their techniques into the 8 slots of the weapon and their done. There literally no reason to not add this unless vetex view this as unnecessary which again I do not see it as being that unnecessary.
You lost me at boosting damage, think about it, we would be stacking:
Damage Affinity + Power + Damage by Shape + Damage by weapon.
This means we’ll be having some insane damage from the mages, i like the idea of sort of mixing magics into one but these affecting your spell output is insane.
