Insert standard topic introduction yapping about my insane experience with 2k+ hours as a pvp and pve’er
Insert well-timed, comedic segway into introduction of the tier list
Mostly based off mage/conj/kinda warlock in that order of priority, idk about paladin and savant would have different organization. Mostly based off pvp, though certain aspects won’t go unnoticed such as ice/magma platforming and status clearing on wind.
I’ll lead with that ALL OF THESE MAGICS ARE SUPER BALANCED!!! Wood is not egregious and shadow isn’t unbeatable, and this is just a tier list for fun not as a metamancing guide. Please don’t metamance, it’s so lame.
btw I just hate metal and don’t feel like it should even be considered on a tier list (it’s probably A-B but I refuse to aknowledge it)
They’re organized by the best on the left and the worst on the right. The worst of S (light) is slightly above the best of A (fire) and so on; read it like you would a book.
But yeah, if you want explanations here they are.
S Tier
Shadow
Incredibly good magic, the imbue is a straight upgrade, and it feels the most consistent and clean to use, especially with speed. No DoT, but on mage or savant you can get that easily by other means. High speed, high power, and great arcanium gear.
Personally, I don’t like shadow users but based on my experience with shadow mage and a lot of shadow savant it’s incredible even with the low stats that savant has and is by far one of if not the best part of that savant build, even with 130 strength (90 magic).
Plasma
High speed, high power, and a great dot that synergizes well with other things.
Incredibly good stats and feels clean to use. Can get up to 4 dots on conj, and petrifies on mage along with igniting poison.
Lightning
VERY high speed, high power, and can paralyze for more damage… and more?
No dot, but it makes up for it with great stats and some of the best visuals in the game. Incredibly clean to use, it feels powerful. The gear is good, if you’re fine with agility.
Wind
Great speed, good size, and not that awful damage. Visibility is low, which helps fight parries and predictability, and can freeze on mage and savant. Very clean to use, and the gear isn’t awful… Clears most statuses on charge which is extremely powerful on certain builds, and shrinks poison clouds which can useful.
Light
Highest speed in the game, serviceable size, highest speed gear in the game, and serviceable damage. The main thing about this magic is its status effect, being a flat self-damage increase along with blinding the enemy, easily exploitable with certain moves like rush or snare. The high speed makes it easy to make fast and good builds with, and when paired with high size like sailor, the blind can be extremely deadly and unpunishable due to light’s speed.
A Tier
Fire
Good speed, High power, and great dot with very decent size. Extremely solid magic with good visuals and feels clean to use. I’m biased towards this magic (obviously) but I think it deserves it’s placement. Some of if not the best gear in the game, and it pairs well with anything. Can petrify on mage and can get up to 4 dots on conj along with igniting poison. Very solid magic similar to plasma, but with higher size less speed.
Ice
High power, decent speed, and high size. No dot, but similar to lightning in that freezing is open for most classes (soon all). The arcmancer is funny with the max res build using it (I think) and it’s overall just great and very solid (haha).
Also ice platforming is useful. Barrier reflex sucks but usually you can use a different one (usually…) Can make steam when imbuing thermo which gives double dot.
Acid
This magic I only know from experience fighting it, but from what I can tell it’s very good. Great dot with good power, speed, and size. Looks clean to use and it pairs well with other magics with great synergy. Funny piercing arcmancer ahahah
Glass
This magic I only know from experience fighting it, but from what I can tell it’s very good. High speed, good size, and good power. Bleeding stacks on conj or warlock; 2x bleed is very powerful. great arcmancer for gear building, and great synergies especially with acid on mage. Barrier reflex kinda sucks but you can use another reflex almost all of the time while using this magic given what it synergizes with.
Ash
Great size, okay speed, and good power with good synergies that can petrify. The arcmancer is good if you run size, and it can be deadly on certain builds. The clouds, unlike poison, are not ignitable and not affected by wind. Beautiful on ruthless paladin btw… CAN PETRIFY ON CONJ AND WARLOCK using sailor/sunken making steam, not many people realize this.
Snow
Honestly probably should have put this in high B, but whatever. Good power, great size and speed for a freezing magic. The arcmancer is good, if you’re running hybrid size/speed. Barrier reflex kinda sucks similar to ice but it’s fiiiine. Good synergies that can freeze on most classes, and very uncommon to see someone use (unfortunately D:) Can make steam when imbuing with thermo, which can make double dot.
Water
Decent arcmancer (intensity kinda sucks but whatever) Great size, good power, and decent speed. Can freeze pretty well and can make steam when imbuing with thermo, which creates double dot. VETEX PLEASE UPDATE THE VISUALS IT’S BEEN THE SAME SINCE RELEASE. (same with acid)
B Tier
Magma
Great size and high power, along with good status and blinding visuals. You can abuse the visuals so much its not even funny. The arcmancer is great, and it’s very good with synergies when imbued. Magma platforming is also good, and it can make steam on sailor, which is very powerful when paired with magma with great synergy and similarly buildable size on sailor. Terrain destruction effects are very good, especially with the puddle damage and fire damage causing people to not want to go to the ground, which can be very good as a warlock to prevent running and promote aerial combat.
Sand
Oh my god stop it with sand paladin. Good power, great speed and size, with a very good arcanium. Looks clean and is fun to use. Synergies are pretty good, and it’s very good on bleeding builds such as Ileg or weapons. I don’t have much to say about this magic, I’ve only ran sand conj for ~30-40 hours before deleting the file due to irrelevant reasons.
Poison
Very good clouds, very fun to mess with. Okay arcmancer, servicable power, good size and speed. The dot is INSANE on this magic, making it extremely good in certain aspects, especially on warlock because it is unclearable (to my knowledge) and makes players want to go melee, which is not a good idea sometimes ahahaha. Good as a second magic, too, for the dot. Ran often on shadow mage to make up for shadow’s lack of dot.
Very solid magic.
Explosion
OH MY GOD REVERT THE VISUALS or change them they look great but my eyes need rest. I find myself squinting often when fighting explosion builds to find them amongst the chaos. Can petrify on most builds, utilizing steam to get a good dot + petrify. Also can punish their own petrify, shattering it for great damage. The size is insane, the power is good, and the size is servicable. The arcmancer only makes size worse to fight, it’s great on conj with certain skills like beast instinct or storm of arrows, and I feel it’ll only get better. I should have put this magic higher. Good synergies.
Earth
I feel like I’m chipping away when I fight this magic, its high size paired with high power make it good. The low speed is managable, and it looks good too. Similarly to explosion can be great on conj. Double bleed makes it similar to glass, and honestly underrated. I’ve never used this magic, but god I want to.
Good synergies.
C Tier
Crystal
Not the best, but good. The shattering crystal is the main upside, leading for some crazy high damage plays with % moves or musket and such. Has a funny albeit useless max intensity use with the arcmancer on paladin, and I feel the visuals are going to get better with tiers, seeing npcs use it. I really like this magic, and have only recently got the chance to use it. Good size, greatdamage, and good speed. Synergies are lacking, but that’s okay! It pairs well with light at least. I’ve never met a crystal user who isn’t super chill. Barrier reflex kinda sucks but that’s ok…
Wood
I really like wood magic, especially cherry. Although I love the magic, it’s not that good and I feel the Grand Navy are going to be on my ass if I rank it higher than this. That said, it has my favorite arcmancer gear in the game for gear building, with the magic itself having great size, great power, and good speed. You can get a double bleed with this magic similar to glass. Synergizes well with other magics, though it is limited by barriers imo. Funny campfire builds can be made with it and it’s very clean to use. I’d strongly recommend wood if anyone is considering using it, it’s very fun.
D Tier
Idiot.

GOD I HATE METAL.
THIS TOOK WAY TOO LONG I HOPE THIS DOESN’T GO UNNOTICED like my other posts.
Feel free to give suggestions or point out things I missed, this list is very subject to change
Also if you want me to do a fighting style one, I might, but certainly nothing on this scale for the next while.
