That could just be the modern name because it has been centuries if not millennia since they were first made. More precisely, it has been centuries since Acheron nuked the planet. It would be a little strange if they were called Sea Curses before the nuking though, although, if they were floating around in the oceans. Then it would make some sense.
Originally it was for the true potential of magic or something for humans. Not sure if this is still the case or if I’m misremembering.
Vetex was like, 14-15 or something when this was made (I think). So honestly, I’m not surprised it doesn’t make sense. If this is still in the Lore Doc, this should probably be reworked. Maybe Prometheus thought he was going to be allowed to live, but then, he’s the god of foresight? Originally, Sea Curses were so he could get his get back towards Arthur, but Morock was de-canonized so…
MC was also weaker in AA for long time. I’m pretty sure we weren’t planned to be OP until the 6th sea, so the AO equivalent is the 5th sea unless we backtrack.
Subjective, but Vetex probably didn’t want to make a more complex shape (probably).
Made by Prometheus = Non-Experimental as far as I know.
I’m probably wrong about that though.
Honestly, Prometheus probably did this last, and that’s why Arthur mirked them. That’s just speculation though.
Have you seen Volcanos? They’re chill until they’re not, fire’s always wanting to burn something though.
- Probably based on Poseidon, and the Tide Curse grants you control over the sea itself.
- Idk, but Growth Magic sounds dumb.
- Fair, but I assume we’re just meant to find that out in-game until it becomes public knowledge. It’s the whole “spoilers” thing until everyone knows about it.
- Because Curse Users are their element, meaning to hit their true self you need to use magic to “hit magic” or spirit energy to “hit their spirit”. I think that’s probably the best explanation, and weapon auras is the subconscious use of magic.
- Show us, the player, how curses look.
- Cursed to be immortal, cursed to potentially go insane, cursed to be a chess piece amongst pawns in the War Seas for your kingdom.
- Life Curse is better
We talkin about retconny AO lore. He had every chance to change all this stuff.
Yeah, I’m sure things are still going to change.
Regardless of that, Vetex is probably going to keep the MC becoming OP until the end or something. So Curse Users are going to be something we can’t really fight for a long time, and we’re gonna need to leave that stuff to Morden.
Morock is still canon just with a different GFC, and it still makes sense for Prometheus to have made them with that purpose in mind even without the GFCs since curses do still lead to Cursebeard’s death eventually. Just means he would’ve been counting on it to happen without curse users being urged to do it, which honestly isn’t unreasonable. Anyone with a curse who wants to amass power would come into conflict with Cursebeard with one hopefully managing to kill him and eventually one did who had the abilities and army to pull it off.
his actual name is Arthur Pendragon
