On Curse Users: Why can't they rebuild their body?

the reading comprehension of the average arcane odyssey player is still below the floorboards i see

My theory is when they take curse, only their body received the curse. In other word its limited to that part of body.

Meaning its possible for them to heal, but let say I have my arm cut off, I need to take it and attach it myself rather than I grow new arm. Thats my theory.

Edit: Few more theories, magic we use isn’t pure elements. By that I mean it is elements mixing with magic energy. We skip 1 of 3 triangle for fire, metal come out of circle, light and lightning still fast but isn’t lightning fast. This mean our magic have expected property of said elements, but behave differently.

The best analogy I can come with is its like punching. If you punch someone with or without glove, you still punch them, but the glove change how the punch affected the target. glove in this case is magic energy and elements being the punch.

Mind not throwing insults at people you barely know? I asked who because I didn’t know the lore of a particular character who apparently existed.

I’m not here for the entire storyline, of course I wouldn’t know who the life mage was.

I think this is a really good explanation of how magic works, actually. I didn’t think of it like that.

there is a point in skyhall’s main story where you stand by a statue of the mage of life and are given some quick exposition about who she was and what she did

yeah, but to be fair the skyhall story barely elaborated on her beyond that, and it took me being told by someone about it to put the skeleton and the mage of life together and realize that was her and not some random cult member

I like to imagine Curse users exchange their Spirit Energy for Magic energy and utilize it as fuel whilst they possess their Curse…

I imagine the Spirit they originally had is subsumed by the curse, allowing the things it creates to be permanent; yet not having Spirit Energy comes with the caveat that the user becomes stuck in the current living state, as Magic energy cannot truly fulfill that role. Magic is just a transformative energy that mimics elements and concepts, and when you take a curse, the default appearance of that transformative energy becomes your body; so whatever your body was before taking the curse is what it can refer back to.

My main reasoning for this is that Vetex has always said that Curse users are made of magic, to the point that using it is the only thing that can harm them… and has never brought Spirit into this account, so it’d be fair to assume Spirit is also ineffective on curse users.

Vetex is the kind who have good idea but dont really know how to do it. You cannot let him cook the story detail

It depends on the magic, and you can’t exactly heal with magic unless you imbue it with spirit (Or use a Spirit type Magic). For curses i assume it would be the same, you’d need the same imbues or get a spirit type magic curse.

Even so, i assume what averill did was just make a light arm. (All of this is what i remember from Athena pages and such)

I guess true healing is locked behind spirit mutations? You can only repair your body otherwise, not regenerate it.

Not exactly spirit mutations, just having spirit imbues overall. So you could in theory use any magic to heal yourself (maybe not magics like Death or Poison but still)

shit

pack it up guys we lost
