Opinions on the current trading system?

In my opinion, I’m not quite sure it serves the purpose of a trading system to the fullest meaning of the word. It currently forces the instigator of the trade to balance out a trade to be “fair” based on the pre determined values of each item.

This means:
-you cant give out items for free (as a kind gesture, in a giveaway, for a friend etc.)
-you cant barter or haggle with players, as there is very little room to do so before the trade becomes “bad”
-item prices are based on their pre determined value, and not rarity or utility

Furthermore, many players seem to value items way more than the system does when it comes to crowns. There are many offers on the marketplace I’d like to take up but cannot because the trade would become extremely difficult to do.

It’s not all bad though, a system like this pretty much eliminates all sharking, so long players agree the value of items are the same as the trading systems values. It also makes it easier for players who don’t know what the economy is like to start trading.

I thought you can give items for free, as long as you are the giver (like AA)
Correct if wrong

I think you’re right, but in a recent scenario a player who was basically giving away his inventory asked people to send him the trades, and the problem was by doing things that way no one would actually get the items for free. I think a better system would be to not force the trade to be fair, but still display that stat to whoever is receiving the trade.

I love forcing trades to be fair. People unfortunately still think they can pawn off ten garbage items for something worthwhile, but it’s far better than in AA where you got spammed with people trying to trade your endgame sets for wooden clubs.

In that case there could be a system where you can filter out trades that don’t meet a certain minimum requirement of fairness.

I personally don’t have any issues with the current system - players organising “pick and choose” giveaways is a really niche use case - I can still give things to my friends, and I don’t have to worry about spam offers or accidentally accepting a really bad trade.

The option to filter out trades based on minimum “fairness” could work (or just the option to toggle off the trade filter, since that’s the only real use case), but I think it’d just be extra UI clutter that isn’t really necessary.

I don’t really see how that’s “UI clutter”, the options menu is pretty sparse as it is…

I agree though its use is niche, it’d just be nice to have the same freedom as the trade instigator since so many people say “send trade” when I take up offers, and I either have to convince them to send it to me or to deal with it and balance the trade with crowns or useless items.

I personally don’t like the whole “you have to send a fair or better trade to someone” when sometimes the trades are horrible in all reality. If there could be an option to disable the stupid fair or better stuff I’d like it a lot(maybe as a side thing Vetex adds a confirmation to accepting trades as unless I’m stupid there isn’t one). And while yes this can protect new players from getting screwed over you could literally dump a whole bunch of smoke arrows in there and make the quality skyrocket.
