Preview of dragon 😭

It doesn’t need to be small
just not excessively large

Sensing literally begins too break near the edge of I2 and I3 (the war seas can no longer be looked at directly, and eventually becomes impossible to actually sense/see once far enough)

I am not

also the dragons are sorta stupid with the tail move (uses it even when i’m still slightly beyond range) but with powerful dragons, even in that tail swing activaton range my arrow spam move does 0 (which is already finicky with requiring me to be close to the dragon)

the bigger/stronger the dragons get, the more difficult it gets to even hit them in the first place ontop of their extra health

Uhh are you sure about this? I’ve died multiple times from trying to learn personally on how to fight ancient dragons and had my armor broken in the process but when I die it’s back to normal. Though the ā€œ!ā€ mark is still there but it gave the full stats so I’m assuming it’s just a visual bug, it also doesn’t show up in the repair kit.

You’re definitely doing something wrong then, I was able to attack ancient dragons at a distance though to be honest I did switch to warrior so that I can burst them faster.

that is a bug i have encountered before where it doesn’t show up in the repair kit

but in the scenario i has said, a stone skin dragon killed me while breaking gear, and i leave the game to play again some hours later and my gear is still broken, and then it still shows up in the repair kit not yet giving my fuill stats till repaired

my arrows are going straight to their body

and also some moves just seem to break easier, using m1 from the same distance can [sometimes] hit while the actually move with all the damage deals 0 damage, and the dragon can swing its tail at me from that distance

Huh, then I’m guessing what happened to me is a bug. I’ll try and record it to see if it is since there’s no way I wouldn’t be able to notice that my armor is still broken after dying multiple times and breaking them while attempting to fight dragons. Thanks for letting me know though.

Arrows are bugged, they don’t register on dragons for some reason but it should be a known bug by testers right now (Vetex too I think?).

Alright

on the bright side though, it not as egregiously horrid as it is with so many attacks incapable of harming Krakens, dragons just have the issue of not wanting to be hit if you are not a few feet next to them

even when i parry-dodge every single attack it breaks, there is literally no benefit to your armour in doing so as it seemingly takes the same damage

That’s because parrying and dodging still deals damage albeit a small amount. The intended way to fight dragons by design is to have as few times as you can to get damaged by it. A flawless run is even possible since all of the dragon’s attacks are easily predictable and manageable.

An example being the ground fire breath attack, most people think the only way to do this is to either have someone tank the fire breath and the other at the side dealing damage but here’s the thing, the dragon cant aim their breath at the side after a certain range so the best thing you should do is get as close as possible and go to the side of the dragon to deal damage, then once the breath attack is over immediately step back to not trigger any other ground attacks.

yeah i just think armour damage should be reduced upon block, dodge or parry though

Fair enough, I guess that’s intended atp since Vetex has testers to test out dragon fights so I can clearly see them suggest that as well. Vetex really wants you to fight it while not getting damaged in the process which is doable if you get used to it.

I think he could be talking about it during in development but I might be wrong

Ok I figured this out. So when I tested it, when my armor breaks and I die then it will stay broken but if the dragon, or I’m guessing it works on any large animals, gets killed then the armor regains its durability so it’s somewhat alright if you just fight with a broken armor until the dragon gets killed, much better if you’re in a group.

The exclamation mark is a visual bug but if that ever happens, it means it’s because it regained its durability because the large animal was killed. I’m guessing this isn’t intentional and rather a bug in itself but it was nice knowing this, hopefully it stays as a feature at least.

huh

that doesn’t quite feel right, i swear i’ve still had to repair my armour after killing the dragon & had my gear get broken on the first hit of a different dragon cause the progress was already there from previous fights against multiple other dragons

maybe after killing a dragon i could try refreshing my gear/vanity (beast defense gained from dragon blood ritual does not get updated till you change your gear or vanity, same thing when you initially join a server to get the dragons beast defense to apply)

could be a similar situation? idk

Also it’s weird for some reason:

You’ll probably have to unequip and equip the broken armor, at the very least that’s what I did. Was doing a dragon hunt earlier in a party and died since the dragon dual casted but I did see my armor being broken, it was broken when I respawned but I wanted to just wait til they killed the dragon so that I can get some loot.

When they killed the dragon, I wanted to check out the new drip and noticed that my broken armor was already having the visual bug, requippred then saw the stats was giving me full stats rather than being reduced so yeah. This is most likely unintentional but I’ll try and see if I can have someone else record it for me since it’s a pain to fight the dragon with about 6 fps when recording :sob: .

Alright, I’ll see if i can check that out in the future then, it’s pretty weird though
