  • What if the assassin syndicate didn’t take so kindly to you hunting down multiple of their assassins
One of the defeat dialogues for defeated Assassins is how you just made the price on your head larger, yet it virtually has 0 effect on your actual gameplay as assasins of the same level with still continue to come after you and not get any stronger (Unless you count other players which has it’s own limits)

So I suggest that after you Sink roughly 2-3 Assassin ships in a short timeframe you could gain a “Priority Contract”
Or Optionally going to the Assassins base of Operations in Any sea and killing multiple of the higher ranking Assassins to gain priority target faster as it is more obvious that you are intentionally going out of your way to hunt them down and mess with their operations
If you kill an Architect you will immediately gain “Priority Contract” similarly to how you gaining notoriety for stopping an Execution.

Though do note that Priority contract should fill up slower than Notoriety as them being Assassins would likely not have them be as out to get you as they would want you to feel a false sense of security by waiting a bit longer before they act

You can view “Priority contract” at the top right of your screen out of the way of everything else, the Assassin Syndicate do not exactly want to make it obvious that you are being hunted.
(Also allows you to be chased by both the Navy and assassins simultaneously)
Assassin is part of their name after all, they are supposed to be focused on stealth before a killing, they will attack and chase you less often than the grand Navy would, but you will not receive a notification warning when a group does come to hunt you down, they don’t announce their presence like the Grand Navy does.

The image used in the top right could either be that of a hooded figure or that of a dagger that will slowly increase to 5 as your “Priority Contract” becomes more important, will be removed when you have been killed by one

If you have positive renown you can hide out at the grand navy base of that sea sea and go up to the receptionist to have you Hide out for a bit and let them forget about you, If you pay of course, for only a fee that is slightly more expensive than what you would pay the assassins/sponsors to clear your notoriety (On account of Priority contract filling up slower than notoriety)

If you have bounty and you messed with them, you could talk to a sponsor in any town and pay them a hefty(ish) fine in order to fix all the damage you have caused to their Organization and effectively bribe the higher ups to go “Fine, we will cut off your priority contract”

(The 2nd of the 2 suggestions i made to get this role, now i shall go back to the kitchen and think up some more ideas)

Tbh assassins shoud work like Gravy for criminals

Yeah, it is sort of what i was thinking of when i made it, as opposed to the grand Navy, they seem like quite a joke. Won’t bother hunting someone who has gone out of their way to kill one of their architect, one of the assassin syndicates highest ranked members under their leaders

The leaders should get pissed and put out a priority contract if you do that
and annoyed if they noticing an unusually high amount of assassins being killed by 1 individual

I think it’d be great if deckhand NPCs could turn out to be Assassins in disguise to support this mechanic

maybe if you are unlucky, after talking to a deckhand, instead of hiring them or rejecting them, they just attack you on the spot

dont got much to say i just like the idea

Realism is not immersion. Just as notoriety is always an annoyance that provides nothing to the gameplay, this will be as well (except that it will be worse as people with positive renown usually don’t want to be annoyed like that, especially since Vetex added the renown shield).

Good idea, reasonable, would give fame players their own notoriety system.

I really like the idea because it is some sort of fame’s grand navy, basically one that chases them around but slightly more silent (which doesn’t change much since you’ll know when you are being chased, or just outsail them)

I like it. I havealways wanted a syndicate counterpart to Gravy, and I still want to have the idea of being hunted / chased even if I main PvE, similar to how PvE criminals get chased by the GN with Notoriety on them.

Fame players must know the pain of getting jumped by a level 260 Commander for the cardinal sin of stealing cargo and defending themselves. This is a wonderful proposal.

i mean it would be cool for the assassin syndicate to hunt you down after killing their minibosses, but i wouldn’t have it go any farther than that. one of the biggest points of fame is the absence of notoriety

Should already be part of the game yet for some reason isn’t.
